[PB22-SPOILERS] HAKFlakes...the cereal that will choke you until we win

Next turn came up already. A few things for this turn....

Next turn Cheerios grows. In the plan it had for the Granary to be whipped on T42, but we'll be growing such that we could do it on T41. Is there a specific reason to wait until T42, or was your sim just off by a turn previously?
What we also haven't yet discussed is what to build after the Granary. I'm leaning towards either a Warrior to head north and kill some of the animals I've seen (I know of 2 up there that have wandered within range occasionally) or Scout to go up north to explore. As much as I'd like to build a Barracks, I think another unit or two are more important. And I know we need to re-grow before we start on the next Settler.

I almost missed the fact that GermanJoey has approached our borders this turn. So looks like he may be somewhere to our south. I had recently finished getting graphs for mackoti so I have now put all EPs into GJ. Now that the warrior has uncovered enough to know what is around our tentative next city spot, I'm going to send him home. Both because we're going to need protection from barbs at some point, and just in case GJ decides he wants to declare to enter our borders. And if the scout ends turn next to our warrior at any point, I may consider killing it.

GJ currently has one of the top cities in terms of population. Not sure what that tells us, but it also tells us that mackoti & gavagai aren't in the top 5 of cities.

And Hinduism has finally only just this turn been founded.

You can disregard this question. I see why, now that we are in T41. We are shy of production into the Granary such that the game won't let us whip this turn, hence why you had us whipping next turn. But still need to decide what to build next. Will likely start on a Warrior if haven't fully come up with a plan before the next turn comes up.

I was just taking a quick glance at things since I had to log in to pause for REM and thought about the next builds. Since Fruit Loops already has the Barracks, after I whip the Work Boat I think I'll have that city build a warrior while it grows. And Cheerios will build a Scout while it grows after whipping the Granary next turn.
Then once both cities have grown to a point we like, one will start on a Worker while the other starts on a Settler. Probably with another Warrior each before those start.

Is a scout really worth building? The first warrior that he meets will hammer him, and any animal is likely to hammer him too

The reason I like the idea of getting a scout is for the quicker movement and the slightly better chance of finally getting something decent from a Hut. I haven't seen any opponents approach from the NW, so if I can get a scout out that way quickly I might find one. I plan the send he current warrior that way a little bit to kill any animals he might find. And clear the way for an upcoming scout. First and second warrior builds would remain home for protection. At least that's my current thought anyway. I don't really see a reason yet for both cities to start building a warrior immediately. And since both cities need to grow, they should build something. I could have Cheerios build a Barracks, but I think I'd prefer putting out a scout first. Maybe. smile

Yeah, huts on is a boost to scouts that I didn't consider

Forgot to post this yesterday because I got busy....another turn has gone by since this screenshot.

Next turn we get AH. Need to decide what to tech next. I'm currently leaning towards Writing so that we can build Libraries. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Though if we don't get any Horses in a decent spot, we might want to go Iron Working to see if we have any Iron nearby, since that Copper to the north is going to be annoying to settle, and I wasn't planning on going that direction yet.

Sailing is also an option for Lighthouses since both of these cities right now are on the water, and that'll add to their already awesome growth potential.

Writing sounds fine to me. We will need IW when it comes time to start hacking through the jungle, but it's a bit early yet for that. War Chariots are enough military early game that we will not need metals if we can find Horse

So I guess my next city is decided since we have our Horses...and luckily right in the area I was aiming for. Now just need to decide which of the two spots is the best. I'm thinking the Plains Hill which is the eastern marked spot.

Down in the south, we find another hut. But there's two Lions circling me. So I may have to hang out in the forests hoping for the lions to attack me and hopefully die trying.

Certainly is a weird map. Looks like there is nobody in this expansive land area to my direct south. Most of that fog in the west I can see shoreline, so there's very few tiles of ground that could lead anywhere. The eastern fog could potentially expand further that direction with more people. I know Gavagai is somewhere over there, but don't know if it's directly east of me or SE of me. And still have no idea where GJ came from, since I can't see anywhere in the south that he arrived from. Maybe both him and Gavagai are to my east, with mackoti to my north.

So the villagers gave us a lovely 42 gold. Yay, more gold. Well, at least we won't be running out anytime soon. We currently have 184 gold. Also the lion that was next to us attacked, and lost, dealing no damage to our scout. So he is on his way back north to clear that fog.
