On the gripping hand, I might just keep using "King of Pain" as my hosting service. It's a bit of a free rider thing though, because we can't all use attachments for our report images...

I would politely suggest not doing that. If everyone did it we'd soon have a tragedy of the commons.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I think you get more Dropbox space if you recommend Dropbox to someone else and they join. Also, if you had time on your hands, you could selectively delete redundant or less-useful pictures from your older threads (you know, maybe a reader looking back doesn't need to see every city every 10 turns; maybe 20 instead or something).

It's been very very slow of late, but we're finally doing stuff again. Some people are in the same slow boat, but not the neighbors; 2metraninja has a third city, and Plako just landed Stonehenge. At least neither is axe rushing?

We'd be pretty screwed if we needed chariots. See those horses over the pond where Plako was standing? Those are the only ones I've found. frown Yeah. So, obviously, we're moving south to the copper. On the plus side, in two turns ivory will also be in borders so things ought to accelerate a bit with more whippin' room.

I just 2-pop whipped Fool Moon for a third worker. Although whips are nerfed, with this much food and cheap Pro granary already in play little Fool Moon is going have its hide tanned repeatedly. 5-3 whip cycle ho!

Copper is going to be online very shortly, so I need to make hay while the sun shines and get a move on with the warriors. That being said, I opted to change the build here in the capital to a work boat after posing it for a picture, might as well build them in Fool Moon while turning the growth here into more foodhammers. Note: TWO cottages worked already baby! Ottawa 2.0 here we come.

Sailing gets slotted in soon but I think Mathematics is next after Writing...

Does that Settler have escort? Also, why Sailing so soon? Are you aiming to take those horses across the inlet? Lastly, is that workboat for scouting, or for hooking up those extra clams?

Sailing is for the horses across the creek, yes, but also just generally I like to settle an offshore city for trade routes by sixth city, ideally. Work boat will scout a bit before hooking clams. Open borders is late in the mod, too....

The settler/worker/worker stack was escorted by a warrior; a little risky, but manageable. I guess if that lion had been a panther and then won a 22.5% battle, we'd be out of the game. But those are two big ifs, and neither happened. Also notable this turn's start? A second scout from 2metraninja, now in the west. I'm going to block him off...

Welcome Grave Peril to the empire! Proud owner of copper and ivory tiles now, and eventually...dry wheat. Yeah, nothing too stunning, but we've got to bridge the gap somehow and I'm not comfortable delaying strategic resources later than third city, typically. It's no great shakes, but it'll contribute.

Here's the Turn 51 Dutch Empire.

Neither wide, nor extensive, nor great, it is nonetheless a good solid starter kit. Fourth city for pigs/sheep will have its settler whipped in three turns, then we're rolling an actually decent snowball here. Happy is going to be a bit of a crunch; Protective means we're in a very whippy place right now, and shall continue to be there until Feudalism and Machinery come in. I hate it, but Iron Working might have to come before Currency after all; those gems look like our only other source of pre-Calendar happy.

Still, in all, things are at last happening; I believe the worst of the Boredom Turns are behind us now.
