We might still find some use of that coast with TGLH and Colossus hopefully? smile

I have a bad feeling. Plako's score jumped by ~20 points and when I tried to login to see if it is SH he built, he was already in the game just few minutes after the turn rolled.

It is simply impossible to login this night. First Plako was blocking me, now HAK.

Gawdzak too...

Sadly that is the case indeed. Plako got SH. frown I must had stayed away of this game as lately I seems to bring only bad luck and disappointments in Civ with me.

I had set AH as next tech as it forced me to. Please change if this is not the plan and finish the turn. Or we need to decide first how to actually proceed from here on.

Well drat, beaten by 1t! cry

At least we still have the chop hammers that we can direct as we want. I see 2 choices:

1) put them into Great Wall instead and make a run for that.

2) put 2x chops into a Barracks in Samarkand, and the 3rd into the Settler in 54 - that way we can use a 1pop rather than 2pop whip to finish that off.

It's especially annoying as a lot of our coastal cities will want border pops sooner rather than later. Ah well.

AH was the next tech target ... unless we now want to make a run for Judaism (assuming it's not fallen). I think that is a bit speculative personally and since we've just missed on one thing, I'd hate to see us chase another so soon.

Anyway, I don't think we twisted our civ too much to chase SH so we haven't lost much (if anything) in the attempt.

I'm heading out for a couple of hours (or so) and will either play this evening or tomorrow morning.

I currently favour the second option as we want Samarkand to grow and we'd really need an extra chop to grab GW without sticking Samarkand with a lot of production turns. I'll take a look later an see if thee's a decent 3rd option.

</is sad>

Had an awesome night out; not going to play this until tomorrow; thoughts welcome!

I dont think that we need to rush Mono! We dont need our own religion, we'll get someone's or several.

Plako had a nice handicap in techs. GW or settlers are both fine imho. Baracks I am not sure we need soon. May be just get another worker?

We dont need henge so much. Our coastal cities will have at least 1 land food in the first circle.

I am for trying GLH and colossus later. Our coast WILL work this game for sure.

Yeah, Plako has done really well out of his opening; at least we know he's not right next door!

Agree about Mono, AH next and then maybe Writing?

My primary reason for suggesting a Barracks in Samarkand would be to get the border pop and bring in the FPs to the South; however I've realised that the Capital border pop due next turn will grab one of them for it, so it doesn't need its own borders to pop for a while and can probably wait for a Library.

Looking at the other cities, Bodmin also doesn't need a pop soon, so can also wait for a Lib. Los Millares on the other hand probably does want a pop sooner rather than later to bring in the Clams. Here I think that a Barracks would be a good call - maybe a chop and a 1pop Whip?

I think what we'll do is pt 2 chops into a Granary in Samarkand and the 3rd into 54's Settler. Then it's just a 1pop whip and push out a quick MP Warrior before the Copper is hooked. After that I think it will be on Workers / Settlers for a while.
