He hasn't shown any inclination to just hook it though. Horses don't look like they're in his prospects for a 4th city either...
The two of them also have a trade connection via sea now with REM's latest plant. Jowy will notice that REM doesn't have any strategic resources the moment either one of them gets sailing, which looks to be up next for both...

Jowy's doing great. If he keeps his focus, he has great chances to get the win.

Laughing about the spite biting him in the ass aside...

Pericles of Egypt was an excellent combo choice and he's topping the curve in expansion while keeping a good economy and (shocking!) playing as a decent neighbor. Glad to see it.
Game's hardly over, though, looks like everyone is still in contention.

I agree, Jowy has the knowledge and the experience to play a good game. He just got to suppress his urge to destroy things.

The question, as always with Byzantium, is can the phracts arrive before the pikes ? (or alternatively will the other players let REM get to guilds without dogpiling him ?)

Or can you build the right amount for the job without totally murdering your own economy....

I think his plan is to kill or cripple everyone with his phracts, so if he succeeds the state of his economy will be pretty much irrelevant because the others won't have any economy to speak of.

*Everyone?* Er...not the best plan. Now if he can hit a dude and get a dogpile happening, but take the lion's share...yeah, looking good.
Although the usual Byzantine comment remains: the power is in the early knights.

I hope Jowy doesn't attack Bob. I know I regret throwing away my most recent game over a similar issue.

Yeah, it was a new city, so only 100h down. It looks like he's far enough ahead to afford that here. He can definitely win this if he keeps trying.
