T160 Report:
Of course, the second half of the turn was boring--I moved the settler north to resettle Duncan, moved the Knights into SS (which needs a better name--do you have the list of upcoming city names?), and doled out a couple promotions (notably on the small stack 1W of SS). I also did a couple Grocer whips. Since we don't have important military stuff, let's do a domestic overview and some demo analysis!
Any idea on where Heroic Epic should go? The obvious place is Troy I think; do you have any other ideas BaII? We also should think about a spot for Moai--maybe Dean or Pierce?
As much as this is about domestic matters, I'm wondering if we should try to get peace again. I just checked, and yes, xenu and plako are still at war at the moment:
Their war's been cold for a while, and xenu doesn't have that many cities left:
That's only five cities, and one is the abandoned Krabbe. We can actually see, or have an educated guess of where all of xenu's cities are:
Krabbe: Abandoned, hopefully will burn next turn, if not in the near-future.
City A (RS/Meer): I have no clue what's here--my plan was to get visibility on it with a galley, but then xenu showed up with 5 naval units
My hope is that I may get this city sometime, but I'm not sure if I will--it depends if xenu ever has to give up his super stack to one of us to save City B or retake SS.
Schwinberg: The capital, where xenu keeps whipping and trying to produce units. I don't know who gets this, but my guess is that I'll cede it to
City B: This is the city I'm least sure about, and this even assumes that the borders we can see are accurate in some fashion, but wherever this city is, I'm assuming it's in the west, and it's the city plako can't currently crack.
FS: I don't think this city is connected to xenu's mainland, and thus I have a feeling neither of us is going to be able to take it for a while--my guess is either I'll get it when I get Astro or can afford a million Galleys and Triremes, or wetbandit is on the landmass, he can take it at his leisure.
Next, let's look at the demos and graphs:
*sigh* This screen is disheartening--yes, the GNP weakness is masked somewhat since we've been running a relatively low slider to backfill techs, and it's still above the median--but the mean is just so high, and so top-heavy to boot. I mean, this could be caused by one of the lead civs backfilling a tech at a high slider (or even a low slider), but I still don't like our position in either GNP or production.
Everyone's power has been relatively stable, but I don't know what's going on with plako--I guess when xenu took back those cities he took out a bunch of plako's power, but plako was able to recover those cities first, then
You can see how much our GNP started to drop once I throttled the slider back as we finished Nationalism--I believe the Aesthetics research will show up on the graph next turn and we should become competitive again.
This is the graph I hate--what can I do to become competitive in production? I've already built most, if not all the forges I can, and after Heroic Epic (which certainly will help) there aren't many sources of production coming up until coal and Railroads, right? Am I supposed to be workshopping more of my tiles?
