When I was (100 and) 24, it was a very good year...vive la revolution! Our happiness problems are now well and truly in the past, plus we'll be squeezing out some great people, plus missionaries (and plus 25% on the courthouse wave). It's good. Although we're slightly more Buddhist than Jewish, I opted to revolt Jewish as another attack on Plako. Torah! Torah! Torah!

The revolting are Dutch.

Oh, I do think Mr. Plako is kind of not liking us right now. The ironically named Peace Talks is just an artist-working middle finger to the boys of Sumer. I did change that wall build, though...

Fie upon "no naming scheme" naming schemes.

...because we're going to be at 60% defenses there before the peace treaty expires. That's two turns of working these seven, then three more turns of six, and we'll have a 95% shot at getting us a Great Artist for the borderlands. Proximity overrides geometry, friend, and I want my capital district to myself. Longbows will be needed to back that up, but lookie at my research.

Bonus points: Hah hah Dtay.

The golden age isn't just designed to mess with Plako, of course. By the end of this thing I want to be in Bureaucracy or Vassalage with maces a couple turns away at the worst, and Guilds on the near horizon. I think the whole thirty city thing is a pipe dream, but I want some strong longbow-guarded Pacific outposts and triremes enforcing the seas. We can't win with neighbors like these, but this *is* a golden age, so let's make it a pretty one.

And none but fillers remain.

Weird, no response? Okay, I guess other things going on around the world are more interesting. My aims are to hold at Proven Guilty and follow the art bomb with conquest in the Peninsular Regions. Plako's got vultures aplenty, but I think they actually do worse than axes defending cities now thanks to the swordsmen buffs.

Swords, no longer an insanely awful build?

What response did you expect? You made a post about a potentiel theatre show somewhere in your realm at a later date. At the same time you informed us that the previous master plan was cancelled and beyond the vague promotion of a cultureshow nothing more was said. Pah.

Had you mentioned Grand Guignol perhaps the punters would have line up, but with all the moaning about your neigbours being such strong lads and terribly mean bullies, I was visioning something more akin to Cartmans teaparties with his stuffed toys.

So., Sell it and they will come. Drops of blood, inches of blood, rivers of blood, or seas of blood?

Yes, blood overspilling like it's sloshing from the kool aid guy's big open head when he runs, that will bring in the masses.

As for this lightly involved dedlurker I'm away with family for the weekend, thus providing a convincing forum alibi. But a plan to culture bomb and kill a few border cities, preventing border resettlement sounds like a fun plan to lock down that end of the empire. But when you do it be ready for an inevitable counter at the other border point. Plako will counter, you can be sure of it, and he'll probably attack where the border city doesn't have so much culture to wade through before hitting a city. Anyway, go in strong, wreck what you can, but be absolutely ready for the counterpunch because there will be one after this.

Spaceman sounds wise. Also, regarding wall builds vs just culture, do walls in RtR still reduce siege damage (I'm pretty sure the castles were completely nerfed at least)? So I don't know if that would still be useful somewhere like Proven Guilty. And hopefully Sheep Island isn't too vulnerable. I don't think I have too much to suggest regarding combat and war, though.
I'm just doing my best out here.

Yeah, that's about the shape of it. Plako does need containing, but you're very right; it's going to be involved and he will push on the Proven Guilty front. It's not grown yet, but Ghost Story is quickly banging out a nice sentry chariot for the front. Gawdzak was just too far ahead on Literature for getting the Great Library but I'm actually pretty happy we got the Statue of Zeus here. This would be a very awkward city for making into a great person farm but as a unit pump? Niiiiiice.

Also culture victory city #3, natch.

So much for my Heroic Epic city. The National Epic is slowly being erected here in Storm Front; it won't be where our first three great people come from, but I think this is basically where all the rest get made. And yeah, it'll be mostly just great scientists, I'm okay with that.

Still will be great for hammers come steam power, too.

We're trendsetters, apparently. Jojo embraced Hinduism and a whole slate of new civics. Curious about his next-GA plan, caste is pretty much integral to ours. We also have Dreyote the Ninja being papal, and another tech landed by us (whee). Third place in score now, remarkably so. Turning it into a plan for survival, if not thrival.

HAK got himself the health event. We still have yet to receive a single bloody event, which makes me sad.
