It'll work. Pin is pretty engaged another exciting game, and probably just wants to close the door on this one honorably. Forcing that army buildup sounds like he filed that Bill.

But with a 70% advantage in power over the "runaway"... cant you run him down?

I've thought about this a fair bit...sadly, the answer is no. Ichabod's got a lot of whip-friendly build queues and his economy is hugely helped by trade routes, which don't care about cottage tiles being whipped away. All my big army could do here is burn a city and force a mass-whip, but then we're even in military and I've still got a monkey on my back (Pin), while Ichabod is *still* teching hard. Instead, my best bet is to use the 10t peace treaty's security to completely wipe out Pindicator, then wheel around and force Ichabod to keep heavy forces on his border with me, slowing his inevitable hit on the behind-and-hurting Dazed/THH duel.

TL;DR, we gonna do dis:

Add ten more hitters in range when it's clobberin' time.

Thus does the hammer begin to fall. All of France lays before me...I suspect in the middle fog there lie some eight-ish catapults and a few horse archers; with luck this stack of thirty-four units can soak sufficient pain for us to end this here.

Sheesh, France is kind of small, isn't it?

Compared to India? According to this map France should be smaller, maybe you can help...

P.S.. England needs "help" too!

Ceil, is that a world map with size based on population? Kind of interesting.

Yes that one is population. There are hundreds of other data sets represented, check it out:

Here's global wealth (2002):

Looking at that one more, the entire continent of Africa is a global appendix. Sad.

More unexpected: where did Russia go??

With the opening of the turn, Mr. Event Log informs us that Ichabod landed the Music artist. We're pretty screwed, folks. Ichabod feels relaxed enough to go grab Music; he'll get to Nationalism and rush the Taj (I certainly assume he's not bothered burning his GE on these little piddling wonders), then Liberalize Military Tradition. That's going to suck. Cannon/grens are probably reachable by me before he hits Rifling, but no way will Dazed make it there.

But, you play to win or lose, not to dink around. So I'm going to try to contest the Taj; I'm about to settle a city for the uber-forest land west of Kirk Machan, then run a quick Civil Service->Alphabet->!Bulb Philosophy!->Nationalism and chop chop chop. At the very least, I should get great failgold. It's a golden age, we're in caste, let's make things happen kids.

All aboard the Failboat! Choo choo!

The other aspect of caste is lovely-sexy Artist Popping. Rolf's Castle ain't much more than a fortification that can get drafted a lot, but that's still something worth settling, and we'll have the borders popped in two turns.

Hey, we fought a war for this place man.

But anyway! France! Pindicator pulled out of his capital, recognizing the futility of attempting a real defense. I hate it when they recognize that.

Clever girl...

Well, we came to kill Pindicator, not get trapped in a piddly little city. So we raze. One HA lost to archer, spear cleans up at 99% odds.

Anticlimactic for all involved, frankly.

...and still we march. I'll probably pop the death city next turn, but the bulk of my force is just marching to Dorter and killing. Pindicator's defensive stack can make trouble as needed, but we *will* kill him soon.

*Jedi mind wave* You don't want to flank and hit my territory.

I'm not quite sure what Pin is rocking in his fourth copper city, but he's got a pair of unescorted workers calling my name. I hope I can kill his city, it'll be annoying otherwise to futz around with sending a detachment here. Ichabod's my problem, man, right now you're just in my way.

Very effectively so, credit where it is due.

With Rolf's Rock, arent you already Y-wrapped? Seriously, Pindicator is standing in the way of manifest destiny!

And yes, credit where it's due. Especially with exciting times abroad these days.
