Did you consider skipping one cottage and leading chain of irrigation north?

I wasn't following closely. Can you get fresh water from some other place than from Changes?

Yeah, it's a bit overboard, but:

If it's not a farm, it's either a grassland cottage or a plains workshop in this scenario.

So events are bugged, eh? That include quests? Because we finally got our first event all game, and it's one that we should receive credit for next turn (nine libraries already built, yo).

This will be worth a whole 2.5 beakers per turn!

Pity about the lack of Great Library and all, but Literature's epics are still worth it. Our sad little capital is about the finish growing for a while to start another golden age's GP.

Quote:Where now the poutine and the lumber? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the flannel and suspenders, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the haunch of the moose, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?

They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.

Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the canucks from Ottawa returning?

In the neighborhood of our Great Work, we're just about finished settling the whole area. Last Call and Day Off are short story titles, and that fits with these good-but-hard-to-hold little cities. C'mon Plako, just let me have this land.

More incense for the empire, for whatever that's worth.

How long do you estimate until those peninsular cities make a return on investment? And do you think Plako is going to attack once the peace treaty ends?

The answer is yes to the first if no to the second. Or, if yes to the second, then yes to the first because it's good to have defensive depth. I do think I see indications that Plako will at least poke at us when the treaty expires. Checking out here the one good spot in his vast desert west...hello Mr. Trireme! Okay, noted, caravel or trireme of our own needs to be there when the treaty ends.

Plako must be incensed about the cruddiness of his luxury bonanza.

All this goes on and we're still looking sideways at Dtay; I don't see any indication that he's about to attack (and in fact he and Dreyote the Ninja had some manner of war recently), but we still need to reinforce this front a bit more. Longbows and maces and cats...

...flashing the later now. Toxoplasmosis here! Be afraid!

Oh, sorry. I've missed your great hydrological plan wink

So that was the least effort into a quest ever. I toyed with the idea of getting Meditation instead, but the game is going to last long enough for the beaker option to matter more. Or else, you know, our game doesn't last that long, in which case I still don't see us regretting a lack of Meditation.

To critical monasteries not built.

Blood Rites is the lucky recipient. Oh no, it's an added incentive for Dtay to attack here!

If he could see it. Or care about it.

It's been a while since I've posted a big wide shot. Here yah go, Turn 137, Dutch Empire:

Not much bigger, but what is bigger, comes with the added benefit of a pissed off Plako!

Now I know a ton about burying the lede, but this is sure as hell a thing. Gawdzak can sandbag a whole lot of Liberalism...

Ouch, but still needs actual land somehow or another. PB5 Vikings, right here.
