Alright everyone, this is the start that was given to me

Where in the world should I settle? My thoughts are that I should get Fellowship of Leaves for Production and Happiness and consider moving on from there? Can Fawns protect an empire while we tech up to get Govannon? What's the best way to deal with these pesky orcs?

I really need your help and advice lurkers! Also, what are the best tech slingshots I should do? It's a lot of techs to get Govannon!

Lurkers, how do I find out the Bulbing Order for Every Great Person?

Initial Plan:

I remember distinctly why Philosophical was one of my favorite Traits: Simply put it let's you get what you want quicker! Out of all my competitors, barring a disaster of random events, I will get my next tech before them. I will build the Elder Council before them and I will be able to build a Great Sage before anyone else (unless they get something free from an event).

There is a strong Synergy with Fellowship of Leaves. More Food = More Ability to Have Production. Since I start with Hunting and the most basic techs I can go straight for Fellowship of Leaves and I shall get it. Luckily for us, The Building built by the great prophet for Fellowship of Leaves Gives +1 Gold for Every City with FoL in it. This is huge because this means that I get the production, food, and gold to sustain my civilization.

I am thinking a basic outline: Build Elder Council and then put up a Sage. Build Cave of Ancestors and put up a Priest. If I get a great sage, build an academy. If I get a great Prophet, wait until Fellowship of Leaves is finished and then Bulb Hidden Paths or Get the Holy Building. Quickly build Kithra and go to town on barbs and potentially another civilization. Defend my civilization with Fawns.

Longer Term, I'm thinking either a Tower of Divination Slingshot from Commune with Nature to Divine Essence to build the Altar of the Luonnotar Final.

Even if I never got there, Commune with Nature supports the powerful FoL Strategy and I can still build parts of the altar to start out with Priests of Leaves and Eventual Druids with More XP.

All Victories are enabled here so Tower of Mastery and Altar are both possible, but it may be difficult to find all the mana we crave.

Download this manual, look at the bulb orders in the back. I believe EitB made one solitary change, which was to move Sorcery ahead of the mana techs in the bulb order for a sage.

So everyone. I think extensive use of great prophets / Sages will be my goal.

1 great prophet for Hidden Paths
1 great prophet for Priesthood
1 great prophet for FoL Holy City
1 great sage for Sorcery
1 great sage for arcane lore
3 minimum great people for altar of the luonnotar.

There seems to be a bug. If you have Priesthood and Commune with Nature and do not have Knowledge of the Ether, by the list a Great Priest Should be able to bulb Divine Essence, but it will not let you. Can a lurker please confirm this? It's awkward for me to point out this bug.

Anyway, here's my current map:

So my goals are as following

1. Get Fellowship of Leaves first if Possible.
2. Use a Great Priest to Rush Hidden Paths
3. Build Kithra as soon as possible
3. Tech Warfare and build the Form of the Titan using Kithra as my high xp unit
4. Tech Military Strategy and build Military Epic using Kithra as my high xp unit
5. Manually tech Philosophy
6. Tech Priesthood using 1-2 Great Priests
Choice 1: Ignore Knowledge of the Ether for now and try to manually tech Commune with Nature along with Bulbing Great Priests
Choice 2: Get Knowledge of the Ether, tech towards Arcane Lore to get Govannon.

Basically my plan is to go a Divine Route for Dain and potentially combine Govannon with Divine units so that my Divine Units become really awesome! The nice thing about Divine units is that they can start with a decent Chunk of XP as you build the Altar of the Luonnotar.

Longterm, my plan is to be able to enact an Altar Victory if a Conquest Victory becomes unfeasible.

Current Issue: I welcome your feedback on Settling Locations. I want long term growth but I want to Try to avoid losing the Holy City

I don't think Khazad will go for FoL, but they very well could. And, I wouldn't put it past Thessalonica or the Clan to want Fellowship of Leaves Either. But truthfully, it's not the very highest priority, I don't want to devote sages, I want to devote priests and if I lose out on the Holy City, so be it. My biggest advantage at this point is that I build the Elder council first really quickly and it will take some time for even Khazad to eke away that turn advantage.

Long Term Likes:
Poisons: Undercouncil is much wanted. I'd rather buy slaves than build workers and Govannon can teach Slaves Spells! smile . Deciding when to build this is tricky. Assassins can help ambush workers and help large stack battles
Bowyers: Firebows cost as much as Priests can with xp can cast Fireball. Longterm I don't have much use for Firebows, there's no copper nearby and I suspect there is no copper on the continent. I really don't want to get Iron. When Govannon starts his teaching, Priests of Leaves will start with more XP, be more versatile (they can still Summon Tiger and Cast Bloom), and pack more punch. Of course Midterm Firebows are nice, I don't have to wait until sorcery to get Mages to cast Fireball for me and Fireball is a strong factor in taking over cities that goes hand in hand with spammable tigers.

I welcome your thoughts and assistance.

Divine Essence is #35 on the list I have, KotE is #29 on the list, for a Prophet. And there's a lot of other techs that might also get in the way. It doesn't seem like a bug to me

If you can try for v11.1 it'd be appreciated. I did a beeline from FoL to Commune with Nature to Divine Essence and I couldn't bulb divine essence
