For example, if I start with Hunting and I'm researching AH, and I pop Agriculture on Turn 3, wouldn't AH take me a different amount of time than if I had Hunting/Agr to start with?
That means someone will have to go in and grant them the hut techs on the turn they were popped, rather than at the start, else it can affect tech rate in an unfair manner compared to other people who did not have such serendipity.
Correct. If I am given the techs I popped on t0 rather than t4 I'll gain an extra 6 beakers in pre-req bonus from one of them.
So it's not a completely simple matter.

I would also like espionage to be on. No way to just edit the save and flip the bit?

If we are voting, I vote for espionage on.

If this is possible, I'm totally on board. If we have to replay all 5 turns, with stops for Seven (or another global lurker) to open the file, add popped hut results in at least a few turns, and then restart the scenario, it's going to be a pain.

My understanding is that a Yes vote will allow EPs but will have spy missions nerfed per the mod specs. If that is the case, then my vote is Yes.
As far as playback, I am fine with the honor code for those that may not remember their exact turns as long as they willfully stay away from any move chalked up to 20/20 hindsight that would improve their position. I don't really think many of those instances will have gone down in the first 5 turns, and if so would likely have been quite memorable.

I've no problem replaying my turns the same way the 2nd time around.
But I must insist on keeping the 3 techs I've already popped from huts.

Granting a tech mid-game is no easier than changing a game setting mid-game.
I have to run.

Maybe we can just declare you the winner of PB24 and start PB25 with the same settings, players, picks, and map as this game? (espionage on this time, of course)
edit: I'm serious, btw.

Personally I don't care much about espionage either way. But is there any fair way to restart and still give Thoth the techs he got at the right time? If not I think we have no choice but to play on.

Why piss about on the 6 free beakers from prereq bonus when he got somewhere between 200-300 others for free? How does 6 beakers make any difference at all?
