There are two mechanics for Peace in CIV (incl. FFH/EitB):
Cease-fire - can be broken immediately; no other concessions can be granted
Peace Treaty - 10t enforced Peace; necessary if any concessions made
Regarding War Weariness, for some reason I thought that Always War applied a downward modifier on WW, but maybe I'm misremembering.
I'm not firm either way, and it's still a setting that should be discussed during game setup anyway as part of the map proposal.

I am in favor of Always War, but I don't care massively either way.
Anyone who actually builds Corlindale only to sacrifice him for a peace treaty in a duel deserves to lose.

I'm considering another rule, I want you all's opinions.
No Duplicate Leaders between opponents: You can play as Decius or an Unrestricted Leader (if that setting is agreed to), but not between opponents. That is to say you can play as Decius of Malakim and Decius of Calabim in separate games, but you cannot play as Decius of Malakim if your Opponent is playing Decius of Calabim in the same game.
Thoughts?

I don't see the point of that rule. It makes things more complicated without actually giving us something in exchange.

Agreed with this.
Also, I'm fine with either AW or not - I guess AW makes more sense in duel game.

Corlindale forces one turn of peace, exactly the same as Seven Pines. It's behavior is unaltered by the setting AW.

Very well, people seem to be Ok with Decius vs. Decius matches if they were to come up or with other duplicated leaders if Unrestricted Leaders was on.
I added the below to rule standards, everyone ok with this?
Quote:Game Save Structure
Title your Duel Saves like the below examples to ensure consistency between games
EITB XL G3 SIII
EITB XL G1 SVI
EITB XL G5 SI
In case it wasn't obvious the first one stands for Erebus in the Balance XL Game 3 Session III.

AW cuts WW by half. It's the main reason to enable it.

Quote:But testing also confirmed that Corlindale's Peace ability *does not* still work with "Always War" enabled- even for a single turn.
Normally the "Peace" ability creates a cease-fire (which I believe lasts more than 1 turn, as normally a cease-fire is unbreakable for 10 turns, I'd have to check- but even 1 turn is significant). Not having it is a disadvantage for the Elohim.
The way Seven Pines, Corlindale, and the peace-event work is unaltered by AW. What each does is force the relevant combatants out of a state of war, the same as a cease-fire. Just like a cease-fire, however, it can be immediately cancelled, and the setting AW does so - so you're forced out of war (kicking units from territory) and then immediately forced back in. This is no different to a non-AW game where the opposing player immediately redeclares war.
I don't give two hoots about the rules, so I won't give an opinion either way. I'm just here to explain mechanics.

I'm ok with leaving AW as Northstar wants it. I hadn't considered the interaction with various WW limiters, especially different civs.
