True story, my first response to his post was "Sure thing, Sullla, welcome aboard!"

I also don't really care as long as it's not someone who would likely ruin the game somehow, and that's their reason for "hiding". But if it's someone who would play appropriately, then I don't care.

Would ya'll rather go with 9?

If it wouldn't massively harm your map plans, that'd be fine here. 9 is a fine Pitboss size too (seriously, it actually might be the *best* size).

Echo Commodore. Would be fine with smurf playing (though xenu should say something if it's someone known for quitting or w/e). Would also be fine with 9.

9 is fine with me. I'm really surprised we haven't been able to find a 10th!

I'm also fine with 9. One less person to worry about killing me. smile

9 is OK if we have no other choice. Definitely don't want to spend a week or more waiting for someone to sign up.

There's an adjustment but nothing map-breaking.

Going to start gearing for it unless there's some serious opposition by tomorrow.

I'm not trying to make a fuss or blackball anyone, and I'm definitely not trying to harm anyone's reputation. As a community we kind of decided that we didn't like smurfing (see also, PB16) so I don't see the point in giving one player an information advantage over everyone else. Knowing who you're competing against is part of the information that goes into your strategic planning. Assuming you are playing against a new player when you are not, or having no information about a player you certainly should have information about given the extensive prior game history of that player -- those are both advantages to the smurf that are simply not deserved. Why reward an essentially dishonest action with advantage?

Unless the game is billed as anonymous for everyone (and there's valid reason to do such a game, to wash away player history and see what happens) and applies to everyone the same way, giving one person that option is giving them an advantage they don't deserve. I'm not playing in this game and I don't make the rules around here, but I thought this might be something you guys would want to know about and make your own decision about. Since I had the information I felt obligated to give it to the rest of you, since "reddog" withheld it. If everyone is fine with "reddog" playing that's up to you all.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
