Behold, Doom cometh.
Finharry has declared on pindicator (with Infantry) and he has reflexively declared on dtay and I. No offensive moves; maybe just a warning or a way to hasten his own demise. I'm certainly going to take out a few cities on our border (probably burn them) to clear some space, but I expect finharry to roll Westward over us as well.
Which is OK really.

And lo, the end is near and so we face, the final curtain!
The Steamroller left their calling card today and announced hostilities; I fully expect to return to the smoking hole of Cyneheard's empire tonight. OTOH, they did delay the declaration by 2turns, which allowed me to finish MilTrad and upgrade 2/3 of the Knights to Cavalry; with the remaining to come in the next couple of turns of saved gold.
Sadly, the enemy is fielding infantry....

Here lies a not-so-special empire, destroyed in the field of battle by far superior foes.
Thanks for taking over - looks like you got to have some fun for a bit.
And then the steamroll happened because I never build top-tier economies.

Gonna die, gonna die, gonna die, gonna die, gonna die and it's gonna be quick!
So all those promoted Cavs got murderised by Infantry - outcome was inevitable, but it was sloppy play on my part to leave the army in easy hitting range.
Revolted to Nationhood and Slavery and going to cause some pain in the cities as long as I can. Gradually retreating units towards the Cap to make a last stand type thing. No chance for a Xenu-esque flee to the colonies (even if I wanted to) since Aztecs are already infesting the island.

Well, hopefully I also have a friendly neighbour who will put me out of my misery when the end comes...
I'm just praying they don't suddenly lose interest <Squirrel> like they did with Azza. Poor guy.

No chance of winning in the field with Rifles verses Infantry, and even if I did then they'd be cut apart afterwards by the Cavalry. So everything is turtling in the capital where I'll make a last stand. Revolted to Nationhood and Slavery and have been drafting and whipping the cities down for defenders.
The Aztec behemoth has taken all but 1 homeland based city and the stronger of the island cities; both of those I expect to fall in the next couple of turns. The cap has a great big pile of Riflemen, so they'll probably need to bring Siege to bear for any sort of efficiency in taking it. I get the feeling that like Azza, it might be a while before this is all over.
So I'm decamping to another civ; will I become the CH, or the Gawdzak of this Pitboss...?

And it's done. On to pastures new ... AKA same sit, different civ.
