If we were going to settle on a hill, wouldn't we want to settle on the hill to the SW, since it's adjacent to the river?
I think worries about separating the Warrior and Settler at this point is paranoia. I refuse to believe that we're so close to other teams that we can be eliminated on turn 2. There are not going to be any Barb animals, either.
I'd like to see what's NE since there's more green there, but . . . . I will admit, the Warrior may see further going NW since there seem to be fewer trees? I do think we will want to scout with the Settler, though. We can make up a couple of turns, I think.
Edit: Seems I missed the previous suggestion. Warrior NW, check and see, then move Settler NE if needed.
