RBPB3 - Gandhi of the Egyptians

Well the grasshill one west could be an option if there's anything nice in the west. Moving the warrior there could reveal some tiles that would be picked up by such a city. (Say, a gold hill). I agree that you'll probably settle in place though.

Generally don't like settling on grass hills. Nor do I think there would be anything interesting over there: Sullla isn't going to give us a silver covered in jungle then plunk down a gold just out of reach, I don't need extra food, and I can't see any strat resources. As it is I have about 16 cottagable tiles, and I do want an academy powered cottage cap at some point I think.

Can't really see a reason to move unless I keep both foods and have a plains hill. Or someone tells me where horses are.

Hmm, horses aren't in the west you say...that leaves just north, south and east... wink

So if you're continuing this metagame - look for panicked posts in the no players thread by novice shortly smile

(Not sure how the forum displays a panicked post though.)

Well, I settled on the spot and moved the warrior NE. Capitals' name is Newcastle. Nothing spectacular showing, researching AH and building a worker.

Will probably post picture tomorrow, but sufficed to say my start is solid, but not spectacular. If only that jungle weren't there...

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Nothing to really do any more except scout on hills for the next 10 turns then stick to forests as much as possible. If I die, so be it. 15 turns until the worker is finished.

I like plan #2.

While plan 1 is interesting, you might not be the only person planning on doing it, plus you will lose the race to someone with Mysticism plus Oracle is a big investment, plus success puts you in a short term lead which is what you want to avoid. I don't really see how plan 3 is any better than plan 2. Extra religions are cool but the shrine is what will give you the economic edge.

Having said that I'm extremely unfamiliar with religion, I usually ignore them in my single player games so I don't really know what works and I'll be lurking with interest to see if I can learn a few things.

Well, that is 2 people saying the beeline to Judaism looks smart...
