Man, such beautiful land is making me wish you were IMP! And AGG! And ToW PRO!
[spoilers] Commodore and Dtay are Sitting Bull of Inca, somehow.

By the way here is a picture I took for tech times reported a while back. Estimates are high-side, obviously...bronze working was actually 14t when begun this morning.

But if I could only pick one I'd still pick Pro Inca. (AKA "two") Still, Joao will be annoying to counter here, particularly once he Buddhisms us in the face. Not sure how obvious it was, but we see not one, not two, but three islands with the borders popped, so don't neglect Sailing. Blackcollar looks very pretty, Ceil, but it is pretty backline. I'm pretty sure the hill sharing rice and gaining cow/fur/gold is the first expansion (Triplet?) and then we go Cobra for the next. The great news is with riverside silver, ivory, furs, and gold we not only have an insane happy cap early on, we also have a pretty good commerce head before cottaging. ![]() Stone island is the best island, clearly.

Come now, have you got an angel on one shoulder and an Azza on the other? How many times have we proved that reaching for city 2-4 in a crowded field is a bad idea? Let some one else throw settlers to the wolves (ahem. Sorry about that) while you bid a strong base. Dare joao to reach for it and then take it back from a position of strength!
We have elephant and fur, that's enough for a strong early game. Get four cities up to size six or so and then see where the soft targets are. I see an opponent field that will provide these opportunities. (March 16th, 2015, 13:42)Ceiliazul Wrote: Come now, have you got an angel on one shoulder and an Azza on the other? On a hill, shares good tiles, goes in the correct direction. ...and then city three is the silver/ivory/cornsharer southward.

Sorry for scattered constributions, will be more involved after saturday.
Agree with Ceil logic but agree I don't think the capital-food sharing city 2 is what I would qualify as a reach. One possible cause for hesitation for me on city2/3 plans is the lack of additional food gained until city 2 borders pop. The micro could work out fine (great in fact) for this if the capital can get up to say size 4 with the right timing and work a ton of mines on a settler/worker while splitting off all of it's land food, but it'd be something I want to test out at least.

Correct above post for accidental double negative that ended up meaning opposite of what I was trying to say. IE: I am pro current 2nd city. Just want to fiddle with the food situation to make sure.

No way Heir to the Empire (or Thrawn, if we're doing series) is being delayed to city 5 or later. You better be going there with the gold.
Especially not over Blackcollar/Cobra (I get the two mixed up, but they're quite similar in many ways). I mean, they were good, but they aren't up to the quality of some of his later stuff.
