RPB3 SPOILERS Bismarck of India (regoarrarr, darrelljs, sooooo, sunrise089)

regoarrarr Wrote:... we also plan to not settle QUITE so aggressively with our 2nd city this time around...

Nothing wrong with settling aggressivly per se as long as you make sure you are on the right side of the river and/or have copper at least in the second ring wink

About your letters: Ok scratch the crafted but I still do like to read them smile

I do plan on making a new sandbox within the first 2-3 turns, so we can start running some simulations. My guess is we'll farm the Rice (getting it three turns early!), then mine the Grassland Hill (getting it four turns early), then pasture the Sheep (getting it five turns early). All hail the Expansive Fast Worker lol!

Shall I move the Warrior SE when the turn rolls over? Do we fear leaving our capital unguarded? Lack of scouting hurt in the RPB2...

So what's your build path? What after the worker? Warrior->Worker->Settler?

How quickly we need a second Worker depends a lot on our second city site, but my bet is we won't build another one until after building our first Settler. Also, sooooo has mentioned Stonehenge. To me that would mean:

Worker -> Warrior -> Stonehenge (parital until size 3) -> Settler -> Stonehenge

or maybe:

Worker -> Warrior -> Stonehenge (parital until size 4) -> Settler (whip) -> Stonehenge

Of course as EXP you really want to save your whips for Workers. Once we have the sandbox we can play out these various scenarios.

DazedRoyalty and Exploit have both settled on T0, both with 9 land tiles in the capital

One of them matches us with a 91% life expectancy (which is 11 health I believe) - pegged as DIM who is also Expansive (and probably on a river)

Good luck guys! 9 forests and 2 foods with expansive India....can't get much better than that.

Instinctively, I like: Fast Worker, working the 3h tile when we can. Fast worker mines the grass hill, we start working that tile, and fast worker chops 2nd fast worker. Maybe that keeps us off our food for too long, but I sure like making sure I'm getting 4h early with Expansive India.

Well that would mean we want to swap from Ag to BW this turn, so we need to make a decision on that in the next few hours

But we can't pasture the sheep next unless we do AH before BW.

With BW first, I can get 2 workers out by T23. They dont' have much to do but chop (which isn't the end of the world of course but probably resigns us to Henge in the capital). Agriculture would be around T27.

With Ag first, I can get the rice farmed on T18, and growth to size 2 on T20 (1 turn before BW first). But then we lose a worker turn moving from the rice to the grass hill

I still like BW first

That's a pretty different approach than I was thinking, what sayeth our micro expert, sooooo?

So just ot make sure I understand, the approach on the table is:

Fast Worker -> Fast Worker (chopped) -> Warrior -> Settler -> Stonehenge (or vice versa)

The tech path is:

Bronze Working -> Agriculture -> Animal Husbandry.

Darrell

P.S. I did end our turn, so we are running out of time to change course. I will not be able to log into the game for 5-6 hours, so someone else would have to do it for us. I would day sooooo if you are at home and agree to the chop strategy then go ahead and make the swap.
