With Cobra founded 1N of previous location, this is where we are on t42
Have terraces in both capital and cobra, but the capital forests are all burnt and terrace in triplet is a bit slow b/c it cna't work the now chopped phf

So why that road configuration not 1N Cobra, 1SW Triplet?
edit, yep, need northern link to speed Triplet. Still not clear on the 1NW road vs. the 1N.

The road's on the grassland to let a worker that just finished chopping the forest there get right to farming the corn SW of Cobra. It's def a slightly worse road configuration (harder to get from Cobra to triplet), but faster corn = better imo.

So what changed, recently, with that northern Cobra shift? I kept the same worker-to-SW-forest-chop move, and am growing to size 3 (everything works incredibly perfectly for this).
Working those four riverless grasslands will be annoying.

You don't actually *have* to ever work those tiles. You could save yourself the worker labour to improve them and just let them lie fallow for the whole game.

Bare grassland: the new (and unimproved) capital crabs.

So I think we should actually do fishing before pottery. it delays the start time of a terrace, but not the completion date b/c I was whipping it anyway, and delays no cottaging. So we might as well save the beakers.

nvm, did the math wrong, off by 1 turn, interferes with 1 turn of cottaging I had being done.
Seeing if that's work-aroundable or not or if my quest to save 20 beakers is a doomed one.

So above screenshotted attempt gets Triplet t42, fast capital and Cobra terraces, 3t from founding Triplet Terrace, 3 Quecha's.
We could speed up the Triplet founding date to t41. This would have moderate costs. The capital terrace is slower (though only 1 of the turns impacts food storage). Subsequently workboat (if that is the next build) will therefore be slower. This all happens because there is 1 less turn of food being converted to hammers in the settler. Also, there is a really err, inefficeint turn where we work a bare grassland hill, plainis hill forrest, and copper mine to get the overflow hammers from a quecha to whip the triplet settler at 70 hammers on t39. Somewhat plus side - the tile sharing works a bit nicer since capital is whipped a turn earlier and can give the rice off to Cobra for a turn, before cobra itself is whipped.
Finally, last interesting thing about version two, is version two going fishing-pottery would be less annoying. Because of the capital share for that one turn there's no actual lost turns working cottages. We do lose two worker turns that would have half built a cottage that instead go into a marginal road turn and starting the silver early, and the terrace in Cobra comes a turn later (though the way it works out with sharing we might as well just wait to whip it at size 3 if it's delayed by a turn, so it's a more complicated tradeoff that involves slower culture and less food storage for better tile yields for a few turns).
Thoughts? can map out micro but right now trying to weigh which outcomes I even prefer. How much are 14 beakers worth?
I'm leaning no on the pottery-fishing shenanigans, but much less decided on t41 v t42 triplet.
I intended this to be shorter, I should have included screenshots and less walls of text.

Hmm, competing thought - with the t41 triplet the workboat is slow enough to come out compared to when we want to be preimproving the wheat up and founding city4 that we might just not want/need fishing at all until around t50, which rather cuts against the gains for going fishing->pottery.
More reason i think my quest to save beakers was ultimately futile.
