I'm confused. I thought Exploit had a turn split with dsplaisted and was moving during the first half of the turn? Or did Exploits vassalage to Dler end that war, so that Exploit had the entire turn at his disposition?
Is there a turn split going forward?

I believe that the turn split was only for that war. So yes that is going to get him into a "double move" now (moving after Dreylin's stack last night and then moving again this morning now that the turn has rolled).
I find it a bit amusing that he is doing the same thing he excoriated me for earlier in the game but whatever - I'm not going to fight it

He has a stack of 9 catapharacts on DSP's border. I hope they wheel around and come after me. His cannon rifle stack is still a turn away from Cream of Tartar that also should turn and head east to meet my attack. I will keep you guys apprised of the status of the southern armies.

Okay the Battle of Killing Knife is over and KK has been razed. Total allied losses were 14 units (8 cannon, 5 rifles, 1 cav) to kill 60+ units and raze the city.
I will try to give a bit of detail on things in future posts

I know that's a lot to read through. Like I said in the first post - we ended up losing 14 units to kill 60. Dreylin got 2 Great Generals and I got one (In Fairfield, the complete furthest city from Exploit...) Exploit also got one, in Club Canadian, so I assume that will be heading our way next turn.
Dreylin has a spy in Evil Eye, which is the Taoist holy city that we are heading to next - it has a lone rifle in it. I assume it will get slaved / drafted / reinforced next turn - we only have 2 conquistadors in position to attack it next turn, so unless it stays with just a rifle, it will be 2 turns before we take it.

First off - let's swap theaters. As I mentioned last night, there were 2 errr "Destroy Regoian?" frigates near his island city of Wild Wonders, as well as a galleon inside. I have 2 frigates, 2 galleons, a galley and an ironclad in the area.
I debated whether to stack my units, or use them to try and blockade my coastal city Sharonville to try and prevent a landing or amphibious attack. In the end, I decided that due to my naval superiority, it made sense to spread out my ships. I was willing to trade 2:1 (or even 1:1 if he was able to retreat back into the city.
When I logged in this morning, I couldn't find the frigates.
I checked inside his city - nothing. Then I checked the combat log
Cha-ching!
The ISS Athens took down the HMS Shower first, getting hit only once, then following it up with a sinking of the HMS Bathtub.
Don't mess with the Indian Navy!
With those frigates out of the way, I bombarded twice and will take the defenses down to 0% next turn, at which poitn I can consider an amphibious attack.

Okay so here's some pics of the aftermath. Apologies that I didn't get a whole lot of time to crop and "enhance" them but I figured something now was better than maybe nothing later.
First we have a shot of the killing blow done by Dreylin. Pictured in the foreground is my stack (and you can see the ghostly shadows of Dreylin's below their pics)
Then we moved a bunch of stuff (mostly the stuff that hadn't attacked this turn) 1NW towards Evil Eye. Here is the stack that is headed that way.
If I'm counting right, 32 rifles, 2 conqs, 17 cannon, 6 machine guns.
And here's what we left behind (mostly to heal)
It goes off the screen due to all the wounded units but at least sunrise's rifles can get into play now. Have to see hwo things go / heal to figure out what we'll do here. Possibly we will send our mounted units to strike at Lin Lost

Still wondering where sunrise moved his rifle stack, though.

The appropriate staging tile was the tile directly SW of Killing Knife. If you look at the last picture, it's 3N1W of Spicy Taco.
We moved 10 tiles on railroads from the east, through Spicy Taco and the 2 tiles NW of Spicy Taco (where sunrise's workers railroaded at the end of last turn) before arriving on the staging tile.
In all the hoopla, somehow sunrise moved his rifles 1S of the staging tile (2N1W of Spicy Taco), meaning that they could not take part in today's battle.
The tile his rifles were on was in Destroy Regoian culture and so couldn't move. We were hoping that the staging tile would flip to Lin after KK was razed (so his rifles could move N-NW and join the stack going to Evil Eye but it was not to be

So some minor emails going around last night - nothing too important. One thing that I found was interesting was this email from dsp

So that's not interesting for the fact that Physics is completed, though of course that is nice. What I find interesting is that he is looking for someone else (probably me) to direct him, at least in this part of the game. That indicates a few things to me. #1 - he is probably not trying to backstab me (yet?) . #2 - He may not have the total focused interest in this game necessary to win this game. The way I see things, the only way that this game is going to end any time soon is for the remaining powers to just concede to somebody (cough, cough, me ) Otherwise this could go for awhile... I may be reading too much into this, of course....
Okay so what do we want him to research. The obvious next 3 techs are Electricity, Artillery and Flight. Flight needs Combustion, which I am still researching, so that is out. Plus the other thing to consider is that of Broker, dsp and me (the 3 researchers in our group), dsp is the one I least "trust" in the sense that he may try to cut a deal with Exploit at some point. So if am coordinating things, it behooves me to "stagger" research so that dsp's ability to "catch" another civ up is limited. I've already kind of screwed thigns up by assigning him to research Scientific Method and Physics, which both unlock quite a few things. But I think it makes the most sense to have dsp research Artillery, which leads to only Rocketry, and have Broker do Electricity, which leads to Fission, Industrialism, Refrigeration and Radio. I'll do Flight after Combustion.
