Today was my first final so I probably didn't write my messages very well this morning...

Not surprised to see Mattimeo voting for me, pretty sure he fixates on me like every game, scum or shine.

I actually don't like Adrien's justification for voting for Zak, which I frankly find difficult to understand, nor his justification for not voting for me. Why spend paragraphs explaining to everyone why you aren't voting for someone who only has two votes on them on D1? That said, from my perspective I know I'm not scum, and it doesn't make much sense to me to vote for Adrien for buddying up with me. Unless maybe he thinks I'm going to hang anyway and he'll look better when I show up as clear? Seems to be backfiring if that's the case.

Eh, going to keep my vote where it is atm. I'm still incredulous that Zak actually hoped to derive viable intel from a joke post.

No idea when the deadline is, heh. Guess I should check that up.

AdrienIer gives the same 'off' feel as previous two games. But might be their style to post lots.
Bob and Rowain come off agressive. This seems 100% normal.
Novice is talking much more and 'feels' a bit different to previous games.
Lewwyn's posts seem a little more disinterested than usual (including his vote for AdrienIer) so seems a little different - could just be a different situation personal-wise to last 2 games.
Zak seems to be gunning for people already which is good. Too good a player for me to have a read early. This is perhaps the thing I learned from last game most, where i am weak.
Gazglum is walking the world and hopefully will return to us tomorrow with stories of revelation. Then I feel some friendly animosity will be due after my misguided friendship ruined my participation in WW38 smile smile
Mattimeo is funny and engaged. This seems odd for him. Very odd.

AdrienIer because seems best option now.

Meta: assuming no powers. We likely have 3 wolves out of 9 right? This means we just lynch away on scant evidence day 1 and see who's votes and comments seem to click? Kind of game that is going to require a big sheet of paper I suppose (per Lewwyn's hint of how he does it last game)

Further: I presume, given the dispersion in PM's that it would be bad form for me to come forward and say what time mine was sent at? Because then we would have clusters (at least amongst those that post initially before the lies begin). Maybe this is the case for all WW games?

Also: I'd like to apologise for being late. I don't use the forums for any other purpose than playing WW with you guys and lost the habit during the break. (someone please invite me to something!!)

I tried installing the newer version of the script, and it doesn't appear to be working, had to make changes manually. Is it possible I have to disable it on this thread, then re-enable to let the new version kick in?

jabbz, possibly.

Shadeun: 7 townies, 2 scum.

Bob: Are you also incredulous that Zak thought he could bait with town reads? Why aren't you commenting on that? Is it just the fact that he referred to the fake PR in parentheses that makes him scummy?
I have to run.

This level of analysis (use of parenthesis) is what makes our (can i say that yet?) WW games somewhat inaccessible. RIP comments that have less than PHD level construction.

It's an age-old debate, but I'm not of the opinion that SKs can generally blend in perfectly with townies. As far as I'm concerned, you were scum in the last game. Over-justifying your early votes is a stylistic thing. If it is a tell for anything it's likely a scum tell, not a scumhunting tell.

I thought scum would have a headstart so decided to take them down (or weaken them enough to even things out, which happened way too fast). I'm just saying that if you feel I'm "playing like last game" is a town lean.

Two things. First: it's a weak wagon? According to whom? I was certainly not confident that it would dissipate in a flash. Second: so what? Why is it a point in Bob's favor that he jumps on a weak wagon?

According to me obviously. I certainly didn't feel that the wagon was going to hold until the end. No one had very solid arguments against you. Maybe it wouldn't dissipate in a flast but still. Look at what's left of it now. Jumping on a weak wagon is more risky for a wolf because it's going to look weird with so many people on board for so little. Unlike what's happening right now on me, for example if Shadeun's a wolf he jumped on a stronger wagon where people have made an argumentation about it that he can use and no one will question why it's so popular.

It's funny that every time someone votes for Zak he switches his vote.

I'm not sure why you think this pattern is significant. In any case, the actual pattern, from my point of view, is that every time I move my vote, somebody new votes for me. Maybe you have the causality backwards. smile

I don't think Lewwyn has the causality backwards. Rowain notices the bait and votes, then Novice decides to join, then Bob comes back from his conference and joins. It's pretty linear. What's not linear is Zak trying to start a wagon against anyone at all for any reason he can find. Because they're pretty weak reasons all the time. Especially the Gazglum vote which is a pretty desperate move to try and throw dirt at someone. Maybe Zak is our guy then after all.

So you reread the thread and saw that thing about causality stand out as something you really disagreed with? I don't even see the connection between that quote and your case that I'm desperately trying to start wagons. It's pretty linear? What are you even talking about. This seems like a completely arbitrary quote in relation to the case that you are making.

AdrienIer

Perhaps I should have used organic instead of linear. Someone votes for you, you want the votes to go away so you try to craft a case. It doesn't work so you start again. The votes on you sound more natural than yours.

I wanted to get a better vote than my initial Matt one before leaving for my exam, and was generally more stressed than usual (again, due to the exam)

You were scum in the last game, as in not town. I don't use scum as a synonym for mafia, I use it as a synonym for "any kind of bad guy". Even if you are a SK and want to hunt for mafia, your behavior will potentially differ from that of a townie, because you have a bad conscience, and because you know that if you're lynched, you lose. That's why I don't buy your claim that playing like last game is a town tell.

I don't think scumBob would necessarily recognize the wagon on me as a weak one. The way I see it, he joined my wagon with a weak argument. But he was trying to make a strong argument. Saying that he wouldn't do that because it would look so bad is overthinking it. If he is scum, he was still trying to look good.

Rowain, what are the scum points against AdrienIer, in your mind? Who are your runner-ups?
If you know what I mean.
