I saw Gavagai with a huge score increase and worried for a moment, but it was something a little different...
Still a great pick up by Gav

Hinduism actually doing well overall. I would be sad about the lack of planned shrine, but given Phi we can actually probably hammer out a Great Prophet pretty late with like 3 temples in a city or something (even easier if it's cobra cause oracle will be slowly building up prophet points the whole game).
We should in the post-guilds world though try to get the prophet out sooner than later, it does only get more difficult.
Retep's Gold saving rate and tech rate confuse me. There's no way this is 0% (if it is we're in luck), but why is he partially-saving at a rate that gets him 10 gpt and alphabet in... 55 turns? Huh?
I think spinneret should be the new target HE city. If it ends up with both corn, (which is easy enough since Cobra is -3 food total from every other tile in it's city radius, so 1 plains-river-farm and Cobra can stagnate on the Iron/Gems, and that isn't even necessary if the Iron goes to triplet in the long-term) then Spinneret has a +12 food surplus from the sugar+corn+corn post CS, enough to workshop every grassland that doesn't overlap, mine all the grassland hills, and then have 1 food left over for kicks or unhealthiness or workshopping an overlap or w/e you want.
Depending on civic assumptions and where we are in the tech tree, that's something like 39/45/51 hammers base (pre-RP/pre-RR/post-RR, assuming Caste). Plenty good enough to justify HE.
I usually never manage to get Moai out this early. Good job us/really-you

I'm not anti-shrine at all, but I read that screen a bit differently; means that Hinduism can be followed by 10% of the world's population while only being present in...5? cities. Our cities are big, true, but still. We're looking at about 100 cities in this map en toto, so even if we manage 30% penetration we're still nowhere near your PB18 numbers. That being said, this turn we got another free foreign spread...but also a rival religion. Agg/Org Elkad with the Great Wall...he's going to try EP economy again, methinks.
Those peaks actually make this a very stable 3-way border.
We're also now first in city count, I do believe. Elkad seems to be okay with it, withdrawing his axe...we get a (liberate) postscript here, but he's got a (liberate) on Deft (island wine city), so we're square. Just those two little backfillers and we are well and truly out of room.
Manta's Gift a filler? Just seems wrong. Third best of his novels.
Weird aside; I asked for Grimace's spare sheep and he gave it to me; this last turn I offered a 1gpt payment for it in thanks (laziness that I hadn't paid for it before). He turned down the free 1gpt for some weird reason with no counteroffer. Sometime diplo panes get lost, any lurker mind telling Grimace we didn't get his counteroffer pane if he sent one? Not sure if I'd pay more than 1gpt right now, though.

From chat, it appears Retep did not dump EP into us (should've taken the bet). So either he dumped EP into someone else (very weird) or his tech/gold-saving rate truly is that bad. If the latter, this is a very very good sign.
Re Elkad and the EP economy, we should watch whether OB becomes a diplo option. Well, we should in general with everyone because we want those trade routes, but with Elkad in particular because Alphabet is an obvious necessity for the EP economy. Not that I really have a good idea of how to take advantage of his pursuit of it, he's probably just getting eaten by his land neighbors before it matters, but it's kinda interesting to keep tabs on.

I know we have and agree with the sound reasons for it, but it is mildly amusing that we border all 3 bottom-tier-scoreboard civs, and have decided the optimal target is... none of them. Just amusing.

Because I love stealing wonder announcements... we have a Colossus!
You weren't kidding about the stacked whip anger...
No general EP jump from Retep, I think his economy actually is that bad
Only change I made in-game was switch of the Corn up by Heir to have Heir and Angelmass both grow at EOT. I think we're growing 5 cities onto nice new colossus coast at EOT, good timing.

Looking at the wonders screen, I also noticed we have two of the top five cities...and Cascade Point is the only one up there that isn't wonderfilled or holy. ![nod nod](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif) Things definitely look up here. Besides the MoM (if GE) and the Literature line set (doubtful this side of Liberalism) I don't think we have any wonders desperately needed. 'mids sound like a good deal, but we're about to get Monarchy anyway and are Inca, so garrisons are cheap. The Rep bonus on specialists is great, of course...but given we landed the Colossus, we'd rather grow on 2/0/3 coast than stagnate on a buffed specialist.
Shocking lack of Pyramids here this close to turn 100, the stone nerf works it would seem.

Not hugely insightful things this time, record of production I had to select:
Demos
Especially like that we're number 1 power with all the above.
Demos if we turn on the burners, nice
Looks like we're gonna have about 1/3 shot at the great engineer in Cobra.
Don't think it's anything novel, but I would project ideal next ~15 turns domestic strategy as pretty much being grow onto colossus coast for GNP // food-storage for knight whipping.

Concur, mostly. Want to get a solid set of barracks in all the cities (went from library to barracks in Angelmass), and there's no reason to not settle those last two fillers. But more than anything else? Grow when you can, and mass those horse archers.
HA HA HA we have a HA.
Turn 100, we have an announcement: BEHOLD THE POWER OF THIS FULLY COTTAGED AND OPERATIONAL BATTLE STATION CAPITAL.
Yeah full big old fashioned review of our setup in another couple turns when the great person comes a cropper.
