That IS an early dot-map!
I have to say that Gold-Sheep site looks bangin', considering the meager resources surrounding the capital. We won't be able to claim the spot till there's 4-5 cities out though.
RE scout, I'd say move NW, and next turn move W on the forested hill.

done, turn ended. forested hill looks safe, but moving NW onto the hill might allow us 2 moves the following turn. otherwise, it'll be two turns in a row moving 1 tile at a time... thoughts?

Ok to take the risk and move to the NW hill so we could move twice the turn after (we'll get 25% defense bonus at least).
Random thoughts about choosing city sites:
I'm not sure, but I think we're way south on the map, so I'm thinking we should try and settle the area to our north first. I'd like to send our warrior south first to confirm my suspicions, and then swing north east or west to locate the best spot for our first city. Unless ofcourse the poles are connected...

Quote:A hearty hello from the terrific triumvirate of DIM :-) Well met. I saw your thread was updated as soon as I moved our scout Hernan so I imagine this message won't be a surprise to you.
Conan huh? I like it. Has he seen anything interesting? Our scout Hernan has reported back our surroundings are pretty decent but not spectacular.
Hoping this message is the start of a strong relationship,
Meatbalz for Team DIM
err... not much to say at this early stage. Is this ok with you guys?
So our neighbour to the West is CRE. Great start
also, just a random thought i may as well throw in. the Friendly Kittens team i thought would be honourable... i was thinking, there's 2 Master of Orion players in that team. And RefSteel and I were considering playing together and going for a MoO theme. So they might actually be playing as Ruthless Mrrshans. Wild speculation at this point, but worth noting.

Good message, I approve.
Creative neighbors =
Sorry I've been afk the last 24 hours. It was a crazy day yesterday. I'd say let's see if we can get any info before moving scout again.

err... just noticed something. some of our screenshots show as attachments. not sure who posted them, but i believe that means they're open to everyone. it also means (i think) that all the players would be able to open them, should they wish, without entering our thread? a couple have had 50+ views.

Photos should be posted to Photobucket or another online service and then linked here, instead of uploaded to the RB forums. That's what mine have been and that should prevent them from being viewable without coming to our thread.
