Well apparently Retep just couldn't take the suspense anymore; I opened the turn to a peace offer. He DoW'd, apparently hoping to gain a NAP for ten turns, or at least confirmation of my target. Okay, fair enough. I see you're massing Paper there, here, have some Scissors! I returned his offer for peace, just as long as he throws in Empty Chairs, Stars, and 70 gold.
Those archers are easily the worst threat to our shooty dudes.
I'm happy if he accepts, of course...then its two more turns and Grimace gets hiself et, but the real point of the offer is to continue to focus Retep on his southern cities. Because next turn, 11 knights, 5 horse archers, and 5 chariots go thundering into range of his capital up north.
Confessing a mild trepidation whilst doing so, I will confess.
