I played it 3 times, every game as Nefarian and won pretty easily twice and won a closer game when the other guy got a perfect board clear.

Are people finding one side winning more than the other?

Well as far as I can tell there is no matchmaking, you're playing against random people. The result is going to depend much more on who is the better player than which hero is better.

I'm enjoying it too. So far my Nef game was closer than my Rag games, despite other people telling me they think Nef is too good.

Played 15 or so games and enjoyed it a lot. It's like an extreme version of aggro vs control. Rag is stronger than I initially thought but he's much tougher to play. On the plus side winning with him feels like you really won against tough odds. The most ridiculous fun I had was getting Corehound Pups into Corehound Pups which is patron on crack for Rag. I popped out more than 20 pups before my opponent conceded.

The biggest weakness with the mode is the matchmaking - it seemed to be completely random and a couple of my opponents clearly didn't know what they were doing. Hopefully they'll add some behind the scenes MMR (like casual allegedly has).

Nefarian felt a little favoured, 60-40 maybe, with the ability to win early but still having chances in the late game depending mainly on whether he gets useful cards with the hero power. although whether or not it's perfectly balanced doesn't bother me at all. The sheer amount of randomness must make it very difficult to balance. I won one game as Nefarian with a silly finishing combo of Unstable Portal drawing Auchenai, comboing Cold Blood on a minion on board and then playing Auchenai - Healing Touch for 8 damage, which makes the whole brawl mode worth it in itself tongue

TBH it would probably be pretty balanced if not for Nefarian having a few broken plays that sometimes crop up such as t1 coin-Vaelastrasz and 2 mana Sprint / Mind Control. the late game dynamic of Nefarian's crazy stuff vs Ragnaros' huge amount of board clear is really fun.

Apparently, there IS some behind-the-scenes MMR. "It is TB [Tavern Brawl] specific. Carries over each week."
