WW40 - Game Thread

So with deadlines coming quickly and often, should we discuss what to do on day 2? Gazglum, are you sure you don't want to repeat today's glowing success with the hot irons?
I have to run.

Good we got Hades smile I guess the other 2 are Poseidon and Zeus.

IMO this result clears novice, zak, Gaz and MJW.

As my current top suspect I have Adrien he was against a BRick-scan and also against a BRick-lynch.

I guess 1 God would give a false Hero-result which puts Mattimeo's "Scan me"- into a new light.
Alternatly if Adrien is God Nr2 his + BRick insistence on MA-scan.

For the record: Although we got a great result from torturing I'm against further use of it. We got lucky this time but I'm sure Serdoa has put countermeasures into the game to stop it from gamebreaking.

Can't say I didn't expect that. How do you explain my constant comments about keeping the torturer hidden ?

As nice pro-forma comment. If you are for torturing you can't keep the torturer hidden. He gets results and through his action he outs himself especially if he finds a god. Just like what happened today.

Ofcourse you wish the torturer had kept his mouth shut and not attacked BRick that much wink.

We just did. I have literally no idea who the torturer might be except that it's probably not novice. I suppose the guy voted for BRick but that includes a lot of people. But I don't think you'll believe me. I have a simple solution for you, since I was the only one to try and save BRick today I probably deserve some scrutiny : torture me tomorrow and see how the torture goes. It's risky, wastes a torture opportunity and may have some weird consequences but if that's what it takes I'll do it.

I think I side with Rowain on this. I have no way of knowing, but my gut says that torture will be balanced so that the second use will be good for us, and the third use will be dangerous. I wouldn't rule out the irons depending on how things go, but my instinct is probably to save it until we have a smaller target list. It could be very powerful near LyLo, if we still have a working torture chamber then.

I guess another way of looking at it is that the heroes are winning at the moment, and that torture is an unknown quantity. Unknown quantities are risky for the winning side.

I feel very good about MJW, and Novice and Zak look good from their votes as Rowain said.

Adrien used some shaky logic to try and derail the lynch. As I said I quite liked his big last post, but it could have been a clever move to gain some town points with a 'scum wouldn't do this' tactic. Suspect List.

Mattimeo isn't responding to questions. Suspect list, and he I suppose he might be a good subject for torture unless, as Rowain suggested, he will scan hero.

Rowain feels pretty towny to me, but would reconsider if he was still here 3 days down the line.

Jabbz, Lewwyn and Marcus Aurelius I'd need to read more from.

Sorry for the lack of content Gaz, but from my perspective there isn't all that much to say currently that I haven't already said. Had Brick popped innocent I would be making a strong case against Novice, but as is, the only thing that could even remotely look scummy on him is if we chose to view Bricks accusation as a distancing issue, which seems off, as I don't feel he was under much scrutiny at the time of his claim. Still, I suppose he could have been expecting the torturer to reveal his alignment, and set it up there. That's many complicated steps however, and I don't feel it warrants pursing at this time. Other than that.... I'm clueless as to others guilt or innocence.

Therefore the most reasonable explanation is that he has some sort of 'immunity' where, even though the torture really really hurts ... he won't talk. Now, either this is his "power" which, if town, would be a red herring, or if a 'god' might at least give him a chance at avoiding a lynch.

While I'm sure looking at the metagame might be interesting, my instinct at this point would be to simply vote for BrickAstley's lynch.

Marcus Aurelius, welcome to the game. Why did your instinct tell you to vote for BRickAstley? Did you feel that the lack of any immediate result from the torture implicated him?
I have to run.
