Back to the rolls... (possibly, but only possibly because another post will make our thread top that category... )
I do believe there will be a decent amount of water on this map.
Why?
Well, it's a toroid and still it seemed like the map makers didn't think it'd be any real effort to switch between 23-25 civs on this map. The only way I see that happening is if there's enough room to add a civs worth of land (or two) by expanding out into the ocean (possibly adding some extra columns to the map). Or then they don't care that much. But then again, considering how much abuse GJ has given OH over the pb25 map one would think he'd take his role here quite seriously...
Oh, one reason I've ranked spiritual fairly low is that mercantilism now can be found at liberalism (which I'd say is slightly harder to get than banking (but better than constitution). I'd still assume that you'd get most use from the trait switching in the legal column and between caste and slavery though?

I've actually been wondering where are you from since you only told me the time zone, that still leaves quite a lot of possible countries.
Also it's nice that our thread seems to have some lurker attention. Welcome!

In general I like it when the name of the city helps me remember which city it is or possibly in what region of the map it's located. One way of doing this is naming the cities in alphabetical order according to when they're founded/incorporated into the empire. Another might be what I often do in SP, namely christen them according to nearby resources/location. E.g. gold-city -> Klondike, hilly pig-city -> Piggyback or border city with Spain -> Isabellapost (I'm sure you could come up with better names, but you get the drift).
One thing we could do (but I'm not sure you'll like), if we're going with Zara, is to name cities according to names where the gender is ambiguous. So, for instance we could go: Andrea, Bobbie, Charlie, Dominique, Eddy, Fran, Georgie, Hikaru...
Or then we could pick up on your title and pick words in different languages amounting to something along the lines of "good". E.g. Amazing, Bene, Charming, Dobre, Extraordinär, Fantastinis, Goed, Hyvä... (but I guess this was also one of the things you didn't like).
Or we could just take battles from the 1808-09 war (probably including the rest of Europe eventually) or then ordinary Finnish towns alphabetically?
I also like the idea that the name somehow represents the location and I could add that the name would represent the role of the city. For example name the capital Helsinki or Turku if we're going with that, coastal spots with actual coastal cities and northern spots with names of Lapland cities. Maybe name HE-city "Vekarajärvi"? Also others would have something to wonder about, although they can always google the names.
Battles from 1808-'09? It would be kind of funny to start from naming capital something like "Oravainen" and then name some filler city Austerlitz. Maybe even try to make the biggest cities named after the smaller battles and some coastal fishing villages after huge decisive battles? Again other players would have something to wonder.
I'm open for lurker suggestions too, but well, I don't want to become king of baCon.

So, I’m going to name this post ”Who the h*ll is NylesStandish and why should I care?!”
Once there was a nice little forgotten realm tucked away in a dark corner of the world wide web where almost nobody new ever entered.
The people at this realm was generally a nice bunch of folks who went about their daily lives shining the buckles of the businesses big work horses, caring for their next of kin and taking nice, invigorating walks along the countryside.
Once in a while though, when a large enough part of the populace has gotten restless, games are being called for and champions from all over the realm and sometimes even foreign kingdoms start to prepare.
Being a fairly small kingdom, most of the fighters will have seen action before and people like Galahad the tempered, Balin the cunning savage or Merlin the sly, will all gather their own loyal subjects and bets will be taken among the blood demanding posse.
Every now and then, a new fighter will stumble into the kingdom.
Sometimes it will be a price champion that has honed his skills in other parts of the world, but more often than not it will be a farmers boy, having won his harness in a game of dice and now not knowing what the words meant to which he wrote his signature.
People could say that we belong to this last category, and perhaps they would be right, but at least we’ve acquainted ourselves with the laws and traditions of this place for quite some time as moss has already started growing on the thatched roof of my small hut.
At times the tournaments have been entered by mystery knights.
These fellows compete on the same terms as everyone else, but while the farmers boys often fall for the simplest of tricks, mystery knights can be hardened war veterans, hiding their true colours under a cape of blue and fully closed knight’s helmets of the brightest white.
In this tournament, although we have a few unfamiliar faces, there’s one character that I really have no lead on. Could this mystery man be a ghost from our past, aiming a knife at somebody’s heart?
Or is he simply that farmers boy, quiet and reserved and fleeing when strikes begin to blow?
Actually I don’t care that much if he’s friend or foe.
What I care about is if he is a game-winning threat.
So I ask myself, who would be able to win this game that hasn’t already entered?
From pb18 we have: TBS, FinHarry, BGN and WLP.
From the past is mackoti, pindiscooter, Seven and Sullla.
TBS is admin and out, Fintourist is globally lurking, thus ditto, the same.
Old Harry it could be, fearing mapmakers revenge, but surely he would’ve made his own official decision much sooner if that’d be the case?
BGN I doubt will have time for this game.
Mackoti has a record, of turning up a surprise, but likewise I feel that he too has moved on, from too time-consuming a task.
Pindiscooter truly, great it would be, but surely they would’ve succumbed to more than three posts by now?
Seven has worked, and crafted a mod, but will he really be up for this now?
No, the likeliest of those I’ve listed above WLP seems to be,
but if so I can only say, best of luck to thee, and hope you end up, next to Krill and not me.
(other people it could be: Xenu, Lord Parkin or Nakor, but most likely still, just a new face.)
