I was hoping to roll myself: Gilgamesh of Vikings.
Vikings cuz I live in Norway.
Gilgamesh's traits fit well with my personae - creative, and quite protective of my stuff.
All that matters nothing at all.
My civ sucks, my leader has no synergy with my civ, and my start sucks.
My neighbours undoubtably suck as well.
Oh and my starting techs suck even more.
I've got a bad feeling about this.

Instead of writing the word [reserved] here, I'll instead type some random stuff.
* I am a pacifist, sadly. However, I can change (sure), and people who end up next to me this game will know that
A - I am not a threat. I am not opportunistic, not militaristic. If they don't break the peace, chances are that I won't.
B - If I am attacked, especially if cities are captured, I will whip&whip&draft&leave other sides of my empire empty just to fight back. If we both lose, so be it, better than just I lose.
Hopefully A + B will mean that I might be able to have peace in our time for a while.
I shall remember to settle forward cities with a bit more defense, though, no need to be too tempting.
* Regarding Civ V succession game....I didn't want to interrupt the excellent reporting, but there were about 10 times went ...gah... over some messed up feature in that game. I can't remember them all, but ...damn that is one messed up game. If they had made Civ IV with hexes, different graphic and music/sounds and some balance changes, we would have been happy. Instead....gah. Noone seems to be updating the CiV PBEM, could be because they are all lousy reporters (except), but I choose to believe that it is just plain boring game, boring to report. Anyway, I've held off buying it, and glad for it.
* If people wanted a competitive event, why not allow "choose your own pick?" You see screenshot, think 3 days, then post your L/C combo, allowing duplicate civs, leaders & even civ/leaders. In PB 18 we got the random tribe, then after we got scrrenshot. I do not know if they swapped starts around a bit due to different starting tech, I had fishing and got seafood for example...but I'm sure some civs had it easier than others due to random start. Why not allow people to pick what they think is best for their start? That way they can grumble a bit at unfair start, but at least not the RNG who dealt them their leader. Haven't read too many threads yet, dunno if some people felt let down by their 'pick'

I'll take it.
Guerilla 2 on every unit will be just the thing to teach me how to not be passive.
No early game traits makes me wary, though.
A gamble, but I'll take it

I think I need a naming theme for this run.
My last one, playing Portugal, was "Portugese cities", which had two benefits:
a) Teaching me names of some portugese cities.
b) Time-saving, as the game went right ahead and suggested city names which followed my naming scheme exactly.
I need to do some city naming scheme now, because
a) These celtic cities are really hard on my tongue and brain
b) It could be fun
c) Discussing this with myself will propel my thread away from the very bottom of the pile of spoiler threads and right into the lead. Go yah!
Any and all lurker suggestions will be duly considered, before being either ridiculed or politely refused.

What sort of scheme sounds fun? Names of real cities? Types of Things? Famous people? Something Meta?

I might go with something personal. Favourite books, movies, composers, music pieces, molecules, wines, ex-girlfriends (last two will get me in trouble if I get more than 6-7 cities or so...)
I can't find much to spin off the dutch leader of celt/irish tribe off the top of my head, anyway...

Here is the starting BFC sandbox for you to look at and start planning, if you choose to do so. This accurately represents what the starting BFC will look like when you load into the game. The file has any strategic resources stripped out (since you would not know those on turn 0).
We reserve the right to make any changes to the BFC, but this is at least very close to what it will look like in game, so should be dependable for planning purposes.
No screenshot for the thread too because that's just time consuming right now for me to go take a picture of each one too.

In my sim I had no cow at start, so I was not happy with that at all.
I moved my scout NW, W, and there is a hut 2W from scout as well as a hut N, NW.
I think I want to settle 1 W here.
Good:
Capital is off coast, can't be boated.
One more hill to mine.
Can work elephant immediately, speeding worker up two turns.
Sheep for faster growth.
Bad:
Capital is off coast, can't build coast-buildings and boats.
One less farmable grassland, or riverside cottageable.
No cow for a nice 3f/3h tile.
Also - there are 3 myst civs. I could go for buddha here. If so I'd want to work the corn for extra commerce, I think, if that cuts down buddha time.
Religion could be good in such a big game. But I need AGRI, Mining/BW, Wheel/pottery and AH fast-ish too.
Need to run some tests.
