Tasunke Spoilers

Well, I like my pick, in all honesty.

I mean, the nerf to War Chariots means that Immortals are, if not *the* best Chariot UU in the game, that they are at least 'pretty good'.

Ok so, in the early game, you can defend with 1 of 4 units. You can defend with Chariots/ Archers/ Axemen/ Swordsmen.

Or in otherwords, just Axemen/Archers.

Therefore, Persia has the Ace of Spades to deal with that, which is nice. A little early game aggression wouldn't hurt, if I felt like it could be pushed towards a city capture/ or even an elimination. Somehow the wars here in Realms Beyond seem a bit more civilized than they do in FFH2 .... in the latter game, wars seem to ALWAYS be fought to the death, but again, that is probably due to the Assymetry of the game, and the chances that there is almost always something 'OP' fighting agaisnt something else that may or may not be OP in a different way .... but more often than not the aggressor will have the clear advantage, and if their attack fails, that gives the defender a possible window etc etc etc

Basically FFH2 is a game with more extremes, more 'right' decisions and more 'wrong' decisions. And you have to know the meta, and a winning strategy involves a nice combination of good civ play and good meta knowledge. (and of course, even the civ economy is a bit different there, with SUPER FARMS etc.

Well, now I get Expansive/ Financial of Persia. I must say, of the possible choices, I'm glad I got this one.

Sure, a Charismatic Mongolia was tempting, I really love them level 4's directly out of the gate .... but if I can leverage twice as many level 2s and a few level 3s, it might be worth the Econ techs.

Apothecary + double Speed Grocers = .... no need for Aqueducts xD

Primary Problem = need early culture.

Religion? Stonehenge? fresh-built monuments? Or possibly wait for libraries? Definitely something we will need to consider.

But ... I think early monuments -> later libraries is the most sensible approach. Hey, maybe I'll get lucky and I'll land a neat lil' RELIGION xD ... but eh, hard to say.

Here is the starting BFC sandbox for you to look at and start planning, if you choose to do so. This accurately represents what the starting BFC will look like when you load into the game. The file has any strategic resources stripped out (since you would not know those on turn 0).

We reserve the right to make any changes to the BFC, but this is at least very close to what it will look like in game, so should be dependable for planning purposes.

No screenshot for the thread too because that's just time consuming right now for me to go take a picture of each one too. neenerneener

lol, its a worldbuilder? lol ....

Yea ... taking those screenshots ... SO much more intensive than a worldbuilder save tongue

(why not just attach a turn 0 save rather than a worldbuilder?)

What?

like, take a Pacal 5000 AD turn 0 save, while in-game, and attach that ... rather than a worldbuilder drop box. I can copy-paste this into a real worldbuilder save ... but I'm not sure where the WB saves are at the moment (can't find them)

What the fuck are you talking about Tasunke?

This is a "real" worldbuilder save of your PB27 starting Big Fat Cross, were you to settle in place. All other tiles have been stripped from the map. It's there to get help you plan out your early micro while the lurkers finish reviewing the map for balance. You open it by right-click,save-as in your worldbuilder save directory (e.g. in My Games / beyond the sword / Saves / Worldbuilder) and opening it via Single Player -> Play a Scenario. The save is automatically generated by a map manipulation tool I wrote. The settler isn't pre-settled so that you can explore scenarios of moving your starting settler.

Tasunke, this is easier because the tool that GermanJoey wrote allows me to make one of these saves for each Player easily. Since some people like them, I figured I could just do this and then people can look in there to see what their start is if all they want to do is look. It is probably the same amount of time as starting screenshots, but has more function, and doing both was too much for me to get done in a reasonable length of time.

The problem with your idea would be if I did it in the real map, you could see everything else in world builder, and if I made each tiny WB file a save that would take lots of time. If you need me to do that individually for you I could help you out.

Nah, there is no need for you to go to extra trouble on my account, I think I figured out how to edit it into a pre-existing worldbuilder save, the dropbox link just wasn't working for me (but I could still see the code)

only special treatment I might want is a fancy new color for my nation tongue

Well, what color?
