[Spoilers] I have enough games already. Oh look, a PBEM !

It's paper.
The phalanxe the GG is on is a new one (the GG spawned in Pyth so pretty far away from the battlefield) so it only has 22xp. Medic 2 will be useful and I'm sure I'll find some redlined unit to kill before this war is over.

Wouhou Grimace accepted the peace offer. Just to check : the 5gpt trade will disappear on its own after the 10t are done right ? No need to manually do it ?

I would definitely check that after the 10t are over.

Alsoflower dance for peace in our time! Got workers nearby to finally get that city running?
Just keep an eye on Grimace's power graph, but with a couple longbows we should be very able to defend those hills if he wants to try again. Fortify bonus will help, so I think it would be good to entrench one lb on the gems and one on the pig within the next five turns (we've got two available right now, right?)

Main problem, there's only one worker in the west. Lots of cities need improvements so I might build another worker from Thales. And yes I might want to recall some of the units I already repositioned, a longbow and phalanxe on the important hills should be enough for now.

Also the eastern cities were building longbows for defense in case of a sneak attack by Retep or Sian, so they're both well defended now. Plan is to get two settlers out of Pyth, the one currently in construction for the island and the next for the eastern site by Retep. I'm worried that Retep is planning on settling that site, he's keeping his scouting warrior very close to us as if he were looking for our settling party. I don't really want to declare another war for a border city, one was definitely enough.

If you think we're in a race, maybe eat it and just use the first settler for a retep border city? Could we defend that? As we're certainly not getting the 7 spot, how about changing 6 to 1n of the cow if it's available? Hill city would be nice for the border, less water tiles could be good or bad dunno.
Maybe we could speed up the selling party with that galley?

I really want the island spot for eco reasons. But maybe you're right. The GG will definitely be able to get to the spot in time, the other units I'm not 100% sure but I think so.

That's why I thought the galley could help, in particular if you move the spot to the north

Well I guess it's too late

Next turn we'll be seeing the city so we don't need the map to have trade routes : maybe it was the map trade that bothered him.

Oh well but 6 is still valid and skulls come in time to get a fast odeon for strong borders (if you like the idea)
But I think retep settling yet another city in that area is definitely not happening so we should be fine using the first settler for the island.

I suppose after 6 we'll be out of mainland spots? Then let's get a strong position on the northern land. Is the map toroidal? In that case we would have an advantage as our competition on that land would be Grimace, who's been busy sending us whipped troops to increase his supply cost....

Possibly the map is even some sort of two parallel stripes of land, which everybody starting on one of them, and the race is to settle the other?

BTW have you considered circumnavigation?

Odeon in 6 is an interesting idea yes. And I agree about this being Retep's last city on this part of the map, his warrior is just there to scout for our moves.

We have no more mainland spots as we are blocked by Sian and Grimace for the southwestern peninsula. I don't care though, I want to settle a city on the northern island (maybe two if there are enough resources) and then focus on an army to hit someone. Grimace and Sian look appetizing.

The map is cylindrical, the north is probably just an island although I expect there to be 4 small island->bigger island patches, one for each of us (two to the south two to the north). I may be wrong though, and there is no symmetry on the map. In which case good job for balancing an asymetrical map.

Circumnavigation would be nice but I'd probably need Retep or Sian's world map which is probably not a great idea. Else it needs to go through someone's borders which seems unfeasible without Retep's OB.
