Hey, I am gonna be out of town this weekend so I won't be able to play any more turns. Until Monday. I will still have internet though so I should be able to chime in. We're off to visit the grandparents. They only live a few hours away but my wife and I rarely make it out there. Of course, we picked to go on a weekend that it's supposed to snow the whole way there!

no worries dazed enjoy your w/e; ilios and i can hold down the fort. good that you're gone the weekend and not next week. i'm going to australia for work tuesday night (CET) and will be on pretty rarely from then until the following tuesday when i come back. 36 hours including time zones to get there on the outbound leg

when i can i'll chime in, but don't expect too much after this tuesday!

by the way guys - who're you rooting for in the super bowl this weekend?

Superbowl? No idea who is playing... I only watch sports when it's the Euro or World Cup.

Bear Alert!

Hernan is at risk being mauled by an angry bear, so we should move him. There's only one forest square we can move him to, but I'd prefer to move him to one of hills for a better view of the surrounding area (I'm pretty sure the Ottomans' starting area is around here) He needs two more turns healing.

No score increases this turn. India and Rome will discover BW next turn. Portugal should be the turn after if they didn't found till turn 1.

Tricky moved W, nothing special to report, nice river valley though, lots of forests. Keep going W or move SW on river grassland?



Rome discovered BW this turn, France has gotten AH.

Haven't ended the turn yet. Will do so once the other players start ending theirs.

my preference is to move him through forests whenever we can. we have a dismal amount of map info for a scout start on T17

Hey, thanks for protecting Hernan. I was under the impression that Tricky was going to start swinging down counter clockwise to explore around our capitol. I think this is really important becuase we want to get the strongest second city site that we can. If we don't start doing it soon, we won't have enough info to make a fully informed settling decision.

Re: superbowl.... Since the Eagles colossal choke at the end of the season and the first game of the playoffs, I can't say that I have a strong feeling about anything at this point. I'm going for the Colts because I like Peyton Manning.

dazed, agree w/ scouting the south, that was my initial reaction too (that tricky should go S rather than W). i'm really concerned about the lack of map info. having said that at the moment there's a bear hanging around there.

maybe what we could do is, if we can move SE and be sure we don't go next to the bear we can do that, otherwise we send tricky W and use of the 2 warriors we'll produce after Stakhanov to look S?

Let's move Tricky one more tile SW, as he'd be protected by the river from potential hostiles. Then we can swing SE and follow the river south. (the bear makes it hard using the forests between Dim and the grassland sheep)That way the area around the grassland sheep is scouted and we can make a calculated decision wether to found our second or third city there.
