I guess nothing for it but conquest, long as that road goes. Although yes, indeed, that will be annoying given the islands scattered out on the ends of the earth. My claimed land area is roughly equal to all other players' combined, but the domination threshold is a long way off. You can see here that I'll be owning the entire northern hemisphere shortly, yay (sugar/rice jungle city in the far west goes down in 4t).

Plan for the charred remnant of Turkey: Reach critical mass->HULK SMASH.

Illuminating way of looking at the demos currently:
-GNP equal to two other intact economies.
-Power twice the next nearest player's.
-CY 70% of the other players combined.
-MFG 60% of the ENTIRE WORLDWIDE TOTAL.

...so let's get a move on ending this. My caravels have begun scouting out Yuri's super-island; right now two galleons of muskets would wreck the place. I'm sure he's going to begin reinforcement and start drafting shortly, but even so, 4-5 galleons of the gnarly aggressive nasties I can put out? See yah, Big Island. Flugauto's tundra/ice isles aren't all the attractive in comparison.

Although his spies definitely raise his target satisfaction ratings through the roof.

Oh, right, DTG is the active sort. That's probably about a wash in terms of cost-to-take, but still a good reminder.

...also, as you see, Yuri cashed in Liberalism, and I fully expect him to take Rifling with it next turn...

...but that's okay, because we've got galleons, baby. Bulb Chemistry for frigates, then right on to grenadiers. yup

Well that was bloody. Another chuck, a cat, and five cuirs to liberate de shoots. I'd say it wasn't worth it, but given that I don't have any other sources of silk in the whole barbaric realms, so...totally is. Five more cities to go! Two more on the mainland, then three off on his secret super-island. Nothing that either "cuirs" or "more cuirs" can't solve, now that they're tooling around inside galleons.

Also, grants defensive depth.

Happiness, as ever, remains low throughout the Barbarian Squalorcracy. The Humbolts makes us some Fightin' Irish, who will of course make all our barbarians very happy!

Should have built it a dozen turns ago, but eh.

Rounding out my trifecta of taciturn weekend updates...

...that's a lot of jans, but power tells me that is all we got to kill.

So that city has quite literally 'all the jans'?

Flugauto landed Notre Dame, which is sad and all but it could be sadder; I could have landed a Great Engineer. As it is, yonder scientist granted me most of Chemistry so we're chugging up to Military Science very soon.

Not an iota of compassion for all the war weary drudges, nossir.

Five turns having passed, it can now be time to swap into Nationhood; mass happiness breaks out throughout the empire, and Beyond Borders has a whole two hammers to spare to still get West Point up in two turns. Then I'll start making COMMANDOS; 1 per turn once the Military Academy gets built here (one more GG point needed).

Need to pave over these towns, painful as that is.

Indeed. You might say that he is...

...not going to stop this invasion. Galleons are hovering all over, tying down garrisons in the two remaining mainland cities while The Stack rolls up; then we'll just toss a couple dozen survivors into boats and sweep the last remaining isles for the Glory of Barbarism. It'll be awesome! As you can see the resettling has already begun...now that I have the Floodplains Plainshill Gold will everyone surrender?

Yuri can definitely hurt me down south, but caravels and galleons forking his Super Island should be keeping him tame for the moment.

Moving up, moving in; that invasion stack was light on collateral because I'm shipping in more chucklenaughts by galleon. I've also almost completed mapping the North Ocean; looks like another 3-4 cities will be worth settling after we take the three Turkish cities there. Lots of good stuff, all feels kind of pointless.

Surrender, my victims. Just surrender.

Beyond the realms.

A mighty storm gathers. It shall sweep all before it.
