I would be surprised if they didn't have a warrior, given that going Worker-Worker or Worker-Settler is crazy with so many teams around and one elimination already!

Though if they are scouting.......

Good. So, now the question is: What are we going to do about them? Financial and Industrious. It would take 4 turns to reach their city, and with a wounded Warrior to boot. Now, we could promote Novice City Raider I. That would heal him to, what, 1.8? 1.9? Defending Warrior would still have huge odds against him, assuming a Warrior is there. And a failed attack would be pretty awful.

We could try to pull a Pink Dot and get our Settler to the Marble ASAP. The odds of there being another source nearby should be small.

Edit: Honestly, our best bet would be to make contact, say hi, hopefully get some kinda tech discount, and move on. Then get our Settler out as quickly as possible, settle on the hill for defense (that corn is LESS attractive than the Pigs, honestly), and get cranking on making that area ours.

I do agree that discretion is the better part of valour in this point - and a 'Revelations' might be in order - we don't know if their scout could be nearby and have already discovered the marble.

Did they start with a scout or warrior?

They started with a warrior and based upon the time to grow- i.e. they haven't. They built a worker first. It's up to you guys.

We *could* be all sneaky and try to peak in from the diagonal to see what the situation is. It couldn't hurt to at least check to see if we have a to chance to get us some breathing room. To do this though we would need to avoid making contact til the last possible moment.

This would mean S - > SW -> NW to avoid detection. They have probably built a warrior after the settler tho and we wouldn't get there in-time to do anything unless they send the second warrior off.

Ok i've had a think and i agree with both of you- let's say hi!

Worker moved north and began farm. Ended turn. Exciting times, not the best people in the world to start next to but it could be a whole lot worse.

EDIT: Just hoping Broker holds no grudges vs Whosit, i'm thinking in our first communication we should maybe play down your role in the team to more of a dedicated lurker to try and avoid ill feelings on that front.

Brief thoughts:

We both start with early UU. Skirmishers could choke the hell out of us if we're not careful but i get the impression these guys aren't going to play it that way. Super happy newbs are us!

An exchange of what we've discovered on the map so far could be a ncie way to break the ice. I wouldn't want to disclose my map script 'theory' unless we were getting something concrete like a NAP out of it.

Hmm, UNLESS, we DONT make contact deliberately. That way they cant be mad about pink dot, after all we had no idea they were there right? ... Would make diplomatic relations a lot easier.[/COLOR]

TURN ROLLED

Warrior 2 survived......just! They have 0.0 health but are alive! Now I think we should still move him onto 'scout me' regardless. If he dies, we have another due in 2 turns anyway.

I moved Novice SW to just 'patrol' Broker's borders for them. Unfortunately a lion appeared. We are on a grassland tile, so I promoted Novice to Combat 1 to get him up to 1.9 health and better odds against the inevitable attack.

Decision Time - do we move warrior 2 to scout the hill for vital info and high risk destruction, or just let them heal on 75% fortify forest hill and then scout later and hope he doesn't get attacked until it is healthy again?

Double post.

Just a thought on 3 hammer hill. We won't be able to mine it until Bronze working won't we? If that is the case, should we mine a plains hill to 4 hammers for extra settler production?

EDIT: There is a hill WSW of Novice's current position. If he survives the lion onslaught, would that give us a good view onto Broker's city?
