I don't care if you vote for Serdoa, Novice or Muriel. I care if your posting doesn't match what I think you should be doing as a village-aligned character. I think I made this clear - responses like this, again, make me think that you are trying to deflect attention by intentionally misunderstanding me.

(September 20th, 2015, 04:04)Rowain Wrote: Do you think that learning your motivation is bad for village?

Not at all! But you were doing more than asking a question, you were making an insinuation.

"Do you believe that Serdoa and I are scumbuddies?" is a question, though not entirely relevant to what I've been saying baout you.

"If so, why don't you vote Serdoa again?" is making an implication that my line of questioning is unreasonable. YOu ended your post with that, turning the attention around on me. But you are basing that remark not on my own behaviour, but on YOUR suggestion that I think you and Serdoa and scumbuddies, which I never said or implied.

Sneaky questions, when we need the forthright light of Space Justice.

Also, if as you say your powers are slightly different from those we've seen, that would make sense for a 3rd party. But it also would be a motivation for scum to fakeclaim neutral after realising that they wouldn't be able to safely bluff about their abilities.

Fleet Officer Glum is back on Rowain!

Yeah WW 39 you proved how well you know me and my village-play rolleye. Planning another 2-day crusade to see me mislynched?

No there is no misunderstanding. You are attacking me because you think I should vote Serdoa. Why do you push me to vote Serdoa if you don't think he is scum?

Rowain, don't play dumb. Gaz is saying you should vote for those you suspect, and not doing so is suspicious, regardless of who that suspect may be.

And I agree with that as a general principle.
I have to run.

I push you for consistency. Your play:

- joke vote Novice
- accuse Serdoa of bad faith and setting you up, implying that you think he is the scummiest player
- but say you're really voting NOvice seriously now, though you haven't engaged with Novice at all

It may all be very consistent in your mind, it just doesn't make much sense from outside. You are harping on Serdoa specifically, avoiding the point that your play is inconsistent in general.

I agree I have made mistakes in the past with you, so I would be happy to hear from anybody else on this.

As for Novice, both you and Adrien are voting for him, without giving very clear reasons, so I am inclined to believe him innocent. He also volunteered his powers, pairing them in a way that apparently matches with Serdoa's. So, I am inclined to believe Novice's power claim.

Still, Perhaps he could be scum with the same powers as us? Maybe. Though you yourself have said you have different powers, so it would seem at least possible that the Earth Firsters do as well. Then if you look at Novice's power's specifically:

Hackproof: This sub-routine is activated at night and reinforces the security guarding access to the users pod, making it impossible for Earth First Liberationists members to kill them that night.

That makes specific reference to a self-protection against Earth First Liberationists.

So, Rowain, you are arguing that Novice lied about his powers, volunteering them right at the beginning before scum know much about the setup. And he picked ones that seemed very towny, which a scum might do, but he somehow managed to correctly pick pairings that match what other people apparently have?

This doesn't seem likely.

Note that NOvice's powers are almost entirely defensive. He is a one man Great Wall of China. That makes him an excellent target for a mislynch.

If anybody has Hackproof or Anchored NOT paired, they should probably speak up. Otherwise, I think we would be crazy to kill Novice today. Do you agree, Rowain? It's hard to know what you think about Novice, because you are happy to vote for him without giving him an opportunity to respond to any specific points.

I think that we should consider forcing Rowain to claim his powers, at the very least.

Rowain: Glum, pushes you not to vote me, he asks you why your actions (not voting me) are not coherent with your words (suspecting that I try to set you up as lynch). Your words imply that you believe I could be scum trying to undermine villages win condition - which incidentally also implies further that wanting to lynch you is an anti-town thing. Neither is true though.

For the record: I don't think lynching you is the worst thing we could do today. You have an unknown win-condition, unknown powers and if you are really counting for towns VC is as well not verified. Lynching you also does definitely not kill a town-member, which is a plus in my book as we know that they are 100% on our side. We don't catch scum either (if your claim is true in the first place), but the chances for that are anyway low.

I'm certain the above will get me a vote and also zak and you will be telling everyone how you had it right from the start and that I tried to set you up for lynch, but I'm just not trusting you the more you post. You clearly hide something from us, and chances are simply higher that it is something that hurts town than something that hurts scum.

@Gazglum

I explicitly said I have the same powers as in the list not different ones. My versions work slightly different than those listed. But yes they have the same name.

@Serdoa:
novice claims he is lynch-immune and NK-immune to Earth First. Do you think it impossible that scum has exactly this pair? Afterall you can only use 1 of this combi anyway.

I have to be off this afternoon, and I might not be able to make it back to post before this evening. Ideally I would want to hear more before locking a vote in, but I think I'm moderately happy staying on Rowain. I don't think he is playing town aligned.

In fact, I am coming to think that he is scum. He is arguing semantics with me instead of just focusing on the game. I am the one person I think he has described as towny, but he's fighitng me instead of pressuring any of his suspects. His attack on NOvice is barely worthy of the name of attack.

And as Serdoa says, if we're wrong then we don't lose that much on mislynching him. We still go into Day 2 at probably 6 town to 2 scum, and no distractions.

Sometimes 3rd party roles have a victory condition which sees them leave play. Like Poseidon last game, or that time in the Paranoia game. If Rowain can trigger his win condition midgame, we might end up losing him anyway, which will weaken the town votes against scum.

I think Rowain is a good candidate for ship ejection, even given the amount of lurking happening from Adrien, Goreripper and BRrick. At the least, I think he should be pressured to reveal everything about his role, powers and win condition.

At least till we get some of that information you hide.

@zak: I still believe you are more likely scum than town. But I'd rather lose this game than make you feel bad for signing up. I'd like to ask for one explanation. You wrote:

"And at that point I still hadn't looked at the player list, because I was surprised to discover that he was in the game."

The he seems to refer to me, taking the context of the whole post. Why was it so surprising to discover that I'm in the game?

BTW I think you should consider what you might learn by lynching me today. Or what you have learned during today. Thanks to Gazglum and Serdoa making this day all about me you have completely forgone any scum-hunting.

I would ask any villagers to really really think about it. You don't do your town anything good if you continue this path.
