You're right that a southern city could be worth it (actually planting both is a possibility because they'd be on separate continents), I want to get the second northern spot first (yeah I still haven't settled our own offshore island completely, but in my defense all cities had to build units these past 10t with 3 different wars happening).
Of course I support taking core cities instead of planting iceballs. I think the island with iron mine and seafood would be really strong, the question is if it takes too much time to get the galley built whole we have other priorities maybe

And I had to change several builds while playing the turn : Sian's first pike was spotted this turn so I can't rely on knights alone. I started two cats and maybe I'll also get a couple trebs, that should be enough.
Grimace's HAs can try what they want, unless there are more in the fog he can't retake his capital with his 3 HAs and 1 vulture.
Hm, I think with a lighthouse those lakes of Zoe's (plus the crab, though we'll need naval control first) will be really lovely.
Actually, wouldn't this city make for a good GP farm, possibly even NE with 2lh lakes, crab, sugar and pig? I'm not sure because you could not really build many additional farms (maybe one over the eastern cottage, and then the forest)
Speaking of, those are quite a couple of forest Grimace left us. Might be worth to get some additional workers even? If we chop all that we can really speed up the necessary infrastructure (imo granary, lighthouse, forge, courthouse, library more or less everywhere, wow, that's a lot, have to limit that)

Btw how is project moai?
And, now that we've got (relative) peace: Baaaaaaaanking ![tongue tongue](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/RBOld/tongue.gif)
I killed 4 HAs near Thu before he retreated, so that's consistent with the 3 HAs remaining.
Project Moai had a little problem when I realized too late that the phalanx would turn into a mace and I couldn't whip that to overflow into Moai. I started a catapult now. Also the forest is still there I'll chop it when it can get the statues done.
I'll think about banking but paper feels pretty important to monitor what everyone is researching. And I'm still not sure I want to use so many hammers on non-units now.

Yeah I'll want a unit or two and a few buildings from the Grimace cities before starting on workers/settlers/galleys.

You're right that workers will be necessary soon, the good part is that the workers currently in the east aren't as crucial as they once were. I'll be sending them west soon.
Zoe does have a lot of food, but the epics won't come right away. The near future is heading towards nationalism, gunpowder and maybe banking or lib (if Retep lets us). Then towards music->MT.

Well done Grimace. Without a healer it's going to be a much slower march through the other three cities.
In other news I'm still surprised, Retep is up paper (as you see that won't be for long) and alphabet on us while he's still lacking meditation (prereq to philosophy) and engineering. The research isn't so bad after all.

Sian declared on Grimace. Paper just got in so I can monitor the other's progress now.
As you can see in the screenshot I still have some health issues so I'm sending offers like that to Retep and Sian. Sian accepted a health+happy exchange a couple turns ago and I hope Retep accepts this one. If he wants to see it as a NAP he can, I just want the health.
Also a Grimace galley pillaged the clam in Thucydides and I just now realized that the big lake there is only 15 tiles big so I can't build a trireme to make him flee)

I can take Wash next turn if I get lucky. If not it will be done the turn after that.
CM comes with a granary, a market and a settled GS. Nice.
Tech plan : Philosophy will take about 6t (maybe less if Wash gives good capture gold). Then I'll start saving gold on education. If The GP arriving in 10t is a GS I bulb education and try myself at lib, if it's an engineer I use the saved gold to get nationalism quickly and use him on the Taj. Then I might decide to go for MT.
One of my other recent ideas is to build the MoM (which for some reason wasn't built until now) before the Taj. I'll have to look at the forests needed for such a build.

No MoM yet ![yikes yikes](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/yikes.gif) ? I agree you should try. I think Thu is probably the best candidate, for forests left and a very nice production basis . there's no marble on the map right?
Grimace cap looks very nice ![nod nod](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif)
I recommend to save as much gold as you need to match through to either of the tech goals. That way you hide your intentions somewhat and also may get higher KTB
That galley is annoying. Probably the best way to get rid of kit is to take all the cities ( I hope Sian does his part of the job in the southeast, if not ,you may "assist" him)

I lumberjacked many forests at Thu, it would take a while (and a lot of worker turns) to mine them and get the hammers back. I'll think about it. No marble on the map means the forests are only 20h anyway (ok 30 with the OR+forge bonuses).
I intend to save gold until I know which way I'm going. Getting Taoism might get Retep to rush lib just in case.
The galley at Zoe isn't the most annoying, an other one used Sian's OB (before Sian declared war) to go through Shepherd's book and pillage the clams at Thu, plus it blockaded the other two tiles for a turn or two. That sucked.

Yeah I got that about the galley. Most annoying. Otoh, Thu is forced to work max hammers now, which supports my MoM idea

You know what maybe I should just build it there normally, it's going to take like 8t. Chop a forest or two that I haven't lumberjacked yet and make it a 5t build. Only problem is that I'm falling behind Sian in power and Thu is a hell of a unit pump.
