Do you think you can hold your copper (if they go for it), or you don't really care with cats coming and enough axes for the short term to clean after that. Don't be too spoilerish, but I am pretty sure pillaging the copper and tying us down in Antietam is their major goal in the East. They have shown little interest in attacking any cities, and in fact, haven't taken a single fight. Aside from a couple throwaway Archers and Chariots, the only battles they have won have been 35% and below.
Rowain Wrote:As also shown in Pitboss1 this is by far the most important skill. Civ-skills and military skills are both important but neither can keep you alive if you fumble your diplomacy. Well, PB1 is a completely different game, with the tech trading intricacy, and far more teams and more varied fronts. In this particular case, the diplomacy was pretty easy: "Let's all go attack India, or we'll lose."

I think you are seing spoiler where there is none
Considering their stack(s) have no chance (according to your opinion) to take a city, they don't have much option but pillaging.
The east stack I though you said didn't move, I was more wondering where the west one went (ie trying to regroup east or going pillaging your cottages west or spliting as they have done in the past) to know if you might have a chance at some killing soon.
I know it is a lot of work and your morale is not as high as earlier, but the first commented screenshots with location of troops (yours and theirs) was really good to 'imagine' the battlefield (and see mistakes and openings).

Don't take the endresult for the reason.
Take a hint from Dantski's answer:
It's also difficult to trust someone who has repeatedly told me that war is a terrible waste of time then immediately directed me to attack HRE.

Ummm, Rowain: why do you feel compelled do provide "hints" about other teams' intentions or motivation in this thread?
On topic: Any thoughts on where to go tech-wise after construction?

Long, protracted wars are a waste of time. Short decisive wars to add territory (see: Whosit vs. Plako and Kathlete vs. Byzantium) are how you win.
If you were Mali, who would you rather attack, India or HRE:
Right.

Let's pause soon for a couple of hours and then re-pause. This guy is really starting to piss me off. Why does he think the whole game should come to a crawl so he has time to coordinate war movement with 4 other players? There are other players in this game who are not involved in this war, or any future war that might happen, so why should they have to sit there wasting time simply because Jowy asks for it? The 24 hour timer is the maximum, and nobody was complaining in the early game when we could get 2 or 3 turns done per day. I simply refuse to finish playing and then let the game sit there for 7 hours.

Rowain, we're not lying. We do feel that war at this point in the game doesn't benefit anyone. That's, umm, why we didn't declare war on anyone, and why we were asking our neighbors for Non-Aggression Pacts. But Dantski insisted on war anyway, crippling his commerce and building up a large army of Ancient Age axes. Now that was a dumb, dumb move and no one will ever be able to tell me otherwise. But if he was going to commit to a war, he should have declared on the world #8 military power next door, instead of the world #1 on the other side.
Honestly, has Dantski gained anything from this war? Even one tangible benefit? We told him if he attacked it would be a slaughter on both sides that would benefit no one. I wouldn't say that was a lie, I'd say that was a completely accurate prediction that has come to pass.
Also, it's obvious now that Kathlete are never going to end their turns, letting the timer run down each turn and giving Jowy more time to plan things. This is grossly inappropriate IMO, and we really must protest. That is not how a timer split is supposed to work. When you are done your turn, in a war with a timer split, a team must END THEIR TURN! We should not have to read posts in the forums to know when Kathete has completed their turn.

I can understand your feelings about this given what has been posted in public, but if I could only play in the evenings, I would view it as unfair if my 12 hour window started at 3am and ended at 3pm. If that happened to me, I would be asking for a pause and playing at the first opportunity (and ending my turn) ... even if it meant asking for another pause on the next turn.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

But this is a fluid game, and this might happen frequently, as the turns roll over at different times every day. Is it really fair to everyone else to pause the game for hours on end every few turns?
