My guess was that it was GreyWolf. I posted in his thread to ask and haven't had a response yet.

I doubt we can suspect any guy with the word "wolf" in nickname. I am sure it is just a random guy who somehow got in and picked the best civ. Otherwise I wonder how seious guy passed lurker respect test and then he suddenly joins for the wrong civ with different starting position, settles and goes out without saying a word.

Yeah, still kicking myself over this. How will the reload be conducted technically? The server is still the same, right?

Just saw this, I'll be back home to reload later today, probably in a few hours. No worries, T0 almost always has something thing goes wrong.

Can anyone confirm that the game settings are correct?

Just double checked and they look fine for me. Everyone else, check you have the right techs and a scout and don't have contact with anyone else already.

I reloaded to Zanth's first login save, as that was the last save prior to the wrong player claiming a civ. Everyone who had played since will need to replay the first turn making the same moves as before.

Quick note, Civstats shows that some players have ended turn but this is not correct. As of now no one has ended turn so be aware of that. The timer has 71 hours on the first turn again, and is adjusting down to a 24 hour timer for the next turn (but by all means feel free to not use the whole timer on the second time through).
