It might be worth considering depending on the meta you're up against. I don't really play constructed so I can't comment on that. A basic rule of thumb is that if the thing you're killing has more than 4 attack, it's better than BoK. If you're killing an ogre or a giant or something with it, it's a lot better.

Burning seal of champions just for 1 extra damage on an acolyte is almost certainly a misplay. Sure it prevents one draw but the paladin wastes a good card to do so, and is therefore not gaining any card advantage. Also, paladin has the board advantage in this scenario and therefore is quite likely to have a good target for the Seal next turn.
I'm excited for the next adventure! I've prepared a deck ahead of time.
The golden healbot is destined to be Reno Jackson, who is the reason the rest of the deck looks so screwed up. (November 12th, 2015, 01:04)SevenSpirits Wrote: I'm excited for the next adventure! Only the current deck has to be singleton. However, I think making the whole deck like that is the way to go. That way Reno can almost always just win the game vs aggro if you draw him before you die.
I've made a couple substitutions in the above deck. -Unstable Ghoul, -Effigy, -Ysera, +Deathlord, +Dr. Boom, +Ragnaros. Ysera felt wrong because in the matchups she was supposed to be good in (e.g. vs heavy control), my hand kept being full. And effigy didn't feel like it was doing enough. Meanwhile I think the absence of Deathlord was just a mistake - it's so good in a control mage. I tried Forgotten Torch over flamecannon for a few games but I'm not sure it's the right fit. This deck is super fun and Reno is an amazing, beautiful card. I really couldn't be happier about the way it enables and encourages decks that have an incredibly high number of decisions and variety, and tend to play long, strategic games.
Beneath the grounds got a bit better...
Golden cards count as same as regular, so I dont thik it triggers unless one healbot is used.
Played: FFH PBEM XXVI (Rhoanna) FFH PBEM XXV (Shekinah) FFH PBEM XXX (Flauros) Pitboss 11 (Kublai Rome)
Playing:Pitboss 18 (Ghengis Portugal) PBEM 60 - AI start (Napoleon Inca)
been trying a similar mage deck with 1-of's, so far my observations are
1) I lost three games because I ran two copies of ONE card and had a dead Reno in hand. which is really bad because Mad Scientist, Duplicate and Flamestrike are cards I always feel like I'm missing the second copy of. 2) Board clearing against multiple medium sized creatures (particularly Murloc/QM paladins) is a serious weakness because of this. It really wants the second flamestrike. Doomsayer-freeze combos are impractical with singletons too. Could try MC tech maybe. 3) Single target removal is not a problem, running 1x frostbolt, flamecannon and torch (which is very good here as you are always going to want that second fireball later) + BGH/Poly/fireball. I feel like a silence could be worth it. 4) Since there's no particular synergy in the deck and the win condition is trying to grind out card advantage, maybe some other class does this better. Thinking warlock maybe, which needs heals and has inbuilt card advantage and strong AOE.
Yeah I think singleton warlock is a better deck and probably legitimately competitive. Reno significantly helps with the problematic mage/druid/hunter matchups, and warlock hero power. Draws a lot of cards so you can still find a decent amount of 2-card combos with Sylvanas etc.
current warlock list: 1 - Mortal coil, power overwhelming, zombie chow 2 - darkbomb, dark peddler, explosive sheep, ironbeak owl 3 - demonwrath, BGH, earthen ring farseer, imp gang boss, MCT 4 - hellfire, implosion, shadowflame, defender of argus, piloted shredder, twilight drake 5 - bane of doom, antique healbot, loatheb, sludge belcher 6 - Emp, Reno, Sylvanas 7 - Boom 8 - Rag 9 - Jaraxxus 12+ - mountain giant, molten giant cards I'm currently dubious about: sheep (works nicely with demonwrath for a 4 damage AOE, but very situational) earthen ring (gets some value from healing minions later on, but this much healing might be overkill) bane of doom (often has a nice target in Knife Juggler/BGH, but random summon) ragnaros (misses a lot, but his fireball is really valuable when it works)
I just got a new Most Improbable Thing That Has Happened To Me.
I have a 4/2 piloted shredder. My opponent plays a knife juggler. I say: "hit face!" He plays a second juggler and the knife hits face. Seeing the two jugglers I am now greedier. I say: "hit the shredder twice and give me an explosive sheep!". Let me just be absolutely clear that I am saying this out loud, and that I don't often do so. He summons a dude, the two knives his the shredder, and an explosive sheep comes out. It's not like I needed it (or that it was even a good outcome, given my fan of knives draw) but WOW, just WOW. Btw I am finding rogue to be an EXCELLENT class for Reno. Plenty of strong cards to play single copies of, high card draw, and a way to spend life. It really makes control rogue work. |
