Started playing Goat Simulator
.
Awesome little gem, highly recommended. You score points by moving your goat around and smashing things. Things you lick can be picked up with your tongue and used to smash other things.
It's a bit buggy, I wandered into a house and somehow wound up floating around near the ceiling and unable to get down again.
Other than that, it's a lot a fun.

currently trying to prod and convince Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, that it should want to run on my computer ... got inspired to dig out my old CD's for it when i saw that Paradox Interactive had bought White Wolf, and their complete catalouge, including, says the rumours, the rights and coding for all PC games and the cancelled MMO

I'm playing Thea: the Awakening. It is basically an update of King of Dragon Pass meets Settles of Catan set in Witcher 3's E. European/Slavic based Lore. It seems pretty good though I only have 43 turns in it.

Its pretty good. Pasture -> Steel -> Scaled Leather should be the first items you research. First gives you the ability to attract people, steel gives you basic swords, and scaled leather gives you pretty good armor.
Its KODP with with an actual resource gathering/rpg adventure mechanic.

Well, it's interesting, but super micromanagy. You have to juggle the people and swap them in and out of the adventuring party for different kinds of challenges, and also turn food on and off so that the more valuable food isn't consumed when you don't need the bonuses...

Rocket League is damn damn fun. Even with a laptop that has to run it at Potato quality.

Yeah, I just finished the first play though. I feel like the game is a little tedious especially when you have to micromanage the inventory when dispatching expeditions. That's hardly a complaint as so many modern games have similar UI issues. What I will complain about is that it doesn't feel like there are enough random events and the ones I ran into were easily resolved limiting replayability.
Good news is they keep adding new content

Yeah, I finished one on very low difficulty settings with Veles, finishing both major questlines. I really think you ought to be allowed to move your village, especially when resources are often one tile away and yet you need to dispatch a party to gather them. Or the watchtower (or an upgrade) should increase your gathering radius. Right now it seems you're incentivized to reroll starts T-hawk style.
The separation of inventory and equipment screens is very clunky and can definitely be done better. Improving that would help setting up new expeditions, as you often want to juggle people's equipped items to maximize challenge stats as well.
