What? You mean the obelisk might be useful?
One amendment to above wild speculation - speed up the MoM eta to approx t100 with a GE and one GS bulb - no need to get philosophy first.

Turn 30
Ouch, the scout did his healing before the wolf attacked so didn't heal any of the 33 points worth of hits he took, so it'll be three turns further wait for him to heal . Ah well, its all tundra over there anyway.
More importantly how is the simming going? First off we have an eot69 Pyramids build with four cities, twelve pop, one granary and five workers. Pictured on t70 to even the revolutions out.
Switching the Elephantine settler to be a worker speeds the mids by five turns, so this is an eot64 pyramids with three cities and four workers.
To get a decent comparison we run it on to t70 with three cities, six pop, four workers, two granaries and a Library. The fourth city is settled t71.
Obviously the t69 pyramids gives better development, but can I afford to wait the extra five turns? I'll assume yes for now, but don't really need to make a decision until turn 43.

Turn 32
Next turn is the exciting one - copper location, slavery revolt, settler move and the scout will be healed enough to push onward.
This turn not much happened. I'm surprised we haven't had any second cities yet though - REM whipped a couple of turns ago and there are size four and five capital cities out there, so they must start appearing soon...

Thoughts on the Pyramids plan.
First off I just had a look at development with a maths-chop pyramids sim, with five cities at t70 and more settlers in the works it looks good, but the pointy things aren't completed until eot74.
It's odd that no religions have fallen by turn 32, so Oracle won't be early. Does that mean Pyramids won't be early too? Question is: Who is the competition and when do I think they'll complete them?
In score order:
TheWannabe - Elizabeth (FIN/PHI) Arabia (Myst/Wheel/Camel Archer/Madrassa)
- He's going to have a slight tech edge to get it if he wants, but presumably he'll concentrate on FIN cottages? Also no early traits to make it easier. He just whipped 4-2 so the second city should appear the same turn as mine...
LoneWolf - Zara Yaqob (CRE/ORG) Spanish (Fish/Myst/Conquistador/Citadel)
- Cheap libraries mean running rep specialists is attractive, while another slight tech edge could get him there. CRE gives a bit of an early boost, so I'd put him as threat #3.
Dantski & V8mark - Darius I (FIN/ORG) Ottoman (Agri/Wheel/Janissary/Hammam)
- They've got the best leader, but he's not a fast starter, so probably not a huge early boost. Again I'll assume FIN cottages.
Molach - Stalin (AGG/IND) Mongolian (Hunt/Wheel/Keshik/Ger)
- I'd have Molach down for Oracle->HBR rather than heading towards pyramids, but he's IND, so remains threat #4.
2metraninja & OT4E - Julius Caesar (IMP/ORG) Viking(Fish/Hunt/Berserker/Trading Post)
- With IMP they'll be ahead on development by the mid 60s, but their tech rate should be poor. Fifth biggest threat.
Alhazard - Isabella (SPI/EXP) Sumerian (Agri/Wheel/Vulture/Ziggurat)
- EXP gives the fast start, then SPI allows for switching between Rep and Police State, SPI really wants a religion though, so I'd hope he's got other priorities. Threat #2.
ipecac - Napoleon (CHA/ORG) Native American (Agri/Fish/Dog Soldier/Totem Pole)
- I don't think he's got The Wheel yet, so I should get to Maths before he does. With CHA Rep loses a bit of its shine, I'm not too woried about ipecac.
Gavagai/Zanth - Louis XIV (IND/CRE) Dutch (Fish/Agri/East Indiaman/Dike)
- I don't remember Gavagai being much into wonders in other games, but he must have picked IND for a reason... They didn't need to grab AH, so could get to Maths before me. I think that makes them threat #1.
REM - Wang Kon (FIN/PRO) German (Hunt/Mine/Panzer/Assembly Plant)
- He must be looking for FIN cottages to fund his warfare. I'm not concerned he'll compete for wonders, but would be very worried if he was a neighbour.
Old Freddy - Frederick (PHI/ORG) Egyptian (Agri/Wheel/War Chariot/Obelisk)
- He'd be an idiot not to land the Mids...
I'll try to keep an eye on where Gavagai, Alhazard, LoneWolf, Molach and 2metra are on tech, anyone getting an early Writing is going to sound warning bells.

And copper is... really handy
It does mean I'll have to redo the sims before tomorrows turn somehow.

Well, that's just about the best possible location. I'm sorry but I don't think I can help you sim this weekend.

Turn 34 & 35
I'm last to play so you get two turns for the price of one.
The Land Area demographic showed that someone settled on t32-3 so I'm only the second to get city #2 planted. I think Molach was the first, but he sneakily planted it on the turn roll to disguise his progress . I sportingly ended turn five minutes after settling the city so anyone paying attention to Civstats will know, but I bet some folks don't notice .
I went for Fishing-Pottery-Masonry since the stone tile is a lower priority than the copper now. I think I'll build Granaries in these two cities before the settlers for cities three and four, but then stack whip unhappy like its going out of fashion to get enough workers out to chop the pyramids.
There was a hint of coast in the NW and I suspect those mountains are impassable, so I thought I'd send the scout south on his neighbour-hunt and what do you know? At first I thought Molach, but on closer inspection I *think* its the orange of Gavagai/Zanth (IND/CRE Dutch). This isn't a particularly nice area to settle, but I'd expect Gav to plant where the scout is eventually. I don't think I'll be claiming that silver .
Question is: should we make contact, or let him think this land is uncontested? I can't remember how known tech bonus works, but I think the only tech they have over us is fishing anyway, so that's not a consideration just yet. It'd be good to get our EPs doing something though.

Well I'm super disappointed your reaction *isn't* "so I whipped a second settler to settle on the horses..."
