Oh actually server is better than I first thought- it also works for the expression "revenge is a dish best served cold".

I would go with fan, water, and server, in that order. Although I think a case could be made for mercury too (measuring temperature).

The first thing that popped into my mind with "server" was a restaurant server. But maybe novice is the type of person who would think of a "computer server" that needs to be kept cool. So, yeah, I'm good with fan, water, and server.
