Scythian: Center of Asia? May have used a thumb Ring for archery, or Horn bows (or blown Horns to signal attack)? They were scary Alien guys? Looted Gold and Ivory?

I dislike center, gold, ivory.
Horn, alien, or ring seem better.

I think it was not hard to give a 2-word clue. e.g.
BERRY + HORN? cornucopia BERRY + RING? torte BERRY + CENTER? seed That's why I really think that he intentionally gave a clue only for the unclued word in order to make us continue with what we were doing before for the clued word. If we don't do center I prefer HORN to RING and vastly prefer it to ALIEN, which we were not considering before. 
Center just kind of vibes cool to me too, dunno why. Probably because of the horror that is Bob's cupboard-kept ham.
HORN? Cornucopia doesn't seem like something Russians are intimately familiar with.
