Ceiliazul, when the time comes I would be happy to give the map a look over, if it's any help.

Thank Elum, early map rolls have been uninspiring, will have something in the next 2 days.

Mack doesnt like his choices, but others arent too bearish about his options:

Never underestimate Mongolian knights! ...I think either rammer or willem would be suitable.

Really the only outlier I see is TBS' ginghis option. I out about 5 seconds of thiught into editing the picks before remembering thats not what they asked for.

Let's guess what happens when someone suggests changing the pick rules during the pick phase. duh

There was like two months of time to change the pick method before combos were posted. Everyone was cool with random back then or they'd have chosen a different method. I don't see why anyone should get to change the process now without unanimous consent. If they wanted to pick their combos the time to say that was before the first combo list was posted. Any changes after the process starts always leaves someone unhappy and feeling like they got short changed. Not a great way to start the game, if it even starts at this point.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Agreed, but honestly mackoti not wanting to play a combo that he's not interested in is no different than Commodore walking off at the sniff of a Toroidal map - you can't force someone to play at their best if they're not engaged and enjoying it.

This site has played well over 100 games of BTS or modded-BTS MP and yet it is amazing how the same problems still happen. This "lightly balanced, random" bit always sounds good because people want something NEW and EXCITING! But then once it actually happens very few players actually want to play a game where they feel like they are behind the 8-ball from minute one. It was always particularly a bad idea here because the original advertisement for the game was a very high skillcap game which sort of expects a fair fight.

Mostly seems interesting to see whether or not the game gets off the ground or not. The game was never going to be very interesting at this point since given the way the settings situation rolled out the winner is always going to be whichever of the biggest favorites got the most favorable start. Far cry from what was originally intended here.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Privately, i've rolled over 100 starts and rejected all cuz someone gets the shaft. It's hard bit i'll find one. Hey, with only 7players its that much easier...
