RBP3 [SPOILERS] Hannibal of Byzantium (Bobchillingworth, ManiaMuse & SleepingMoogle)

Sure, but I do think we need to reveal some more of the surrounding fogged tiles fairly soon just in case we get shafted with something important like copper or iron being one tile away from our current visibility but hidden in the fog.

Btw anyone being following PB2? Some lessons to be learnt if we ever get involved with a dogpile...

Don't paint a target on your back? smile This game's India may be setting itself up in a similar way already.

But yes, scouting is definitely a weak point right now. I just don't see how to speed it up right now though. As noted, we can use our first chariot to scout out the SE area and then circle around the citadel counterclockwise to defog more tiles to the east. Additionally, we can move Jenkins further west than is the plan now to defog more tiles over there. We are still more or less running a farmer's gambit though, so it is a risk. Our late BW is probably at least partially to blame for that. We could have built another warrior or two but that would have delayed our Settler as well.

Moved Jenkins, fortunately no barbs revealed though there is still the jungle tile 2S which could hide an animal I suppose.

What are the the other warrior and worker doing now? How long will it take before the 2nd city is hooked up by road?

No real plan for Fredricks at this point, but he will be needed for Worker cover so he probably should stay close to the Citadel for now.

Anoleis should go as follows:

This turn: Mine
Turn 34: Finish Mine
Turn 35: Move towards tile 2W of rice (will end up either on it or 1W of it, but either way he can't road this turn)
Turn 36: Move onto 2W tile and road
Turn 37: Finish road
Turn 38: Move 1SW and road
Turn 39: Finish road (city sites are linked now)
Turn 40: Found second city, Anoleis moves onto horses to start pasturing them.

Turn 34:

There was a slight delay on the interturn caused by yours truly. Everyone got to play the turn though, so hopefully no harm done.

Anoleis finished mining the grassland river hill this turn. I switched the Citadel to working this tile over a grassland forest, and BW research actually dropped down two turns instead of one! I'm not sure how to explain it, but I'm definitely not complaining either. At this rate, it means we finish the research on T44 instead of T45 (we'll need one turn of 0% research after founding the city to pay for maintenance costs), and can start chopping a turn early. I'll have a look at the turnplan later to see if this changes anything.

With Jenkins still limping, I gave him his Woody I promotion, which took him up to 1.5/2 power. He now only has to heal for 3 turns to reach full strength again. Since Fredricks will need to cover our Worker soon, sending Jenkins up the Jungle hill again and healing there is probably the best thing to do.

Our Settler will finish in 4 turns. Feros is still due to be founded at T40.

Realised there might be a slight flaw in the micro since I'm pretty sure roads don't work over rivers until construction tech. So that would mean next turn the worker can only get to the tile 1W of the rice. Does that screw anything up with getting the cities connected immediately?

He'll still be able to road the tile on T36, so it should be fine. Keeping him inside the border that turn should actually be safer as well. smile

Alright, I had a look at the build plans, and there's not a not of changes in the end aside from us finishing BW a turn earlier. We're best of waiting until the 2nd worker finishes the next turn bevore revolting into slavery and worker micro is pretty much the same.

One thing we may want to consider though, is to have worker 2 start by chopping and mining the plains hill SW of the Citadel. The citadel reaches size 4 at T50 under the current plan, and we avoid working an unimproved tile this way. It actually gains us extra production if we do go for a 3rd worker/2nd settler pair and we should be able to have a cottage out before we finish those builds.

Another suggestion is to have Jenkins move west beyond the stone and before circling towards the north. It'll let us defog more times, and maybe finally contact another Civ.

Also, hello there.

Thanks for suggesting advance fogbusting Mania. This fellow might have otherwise caused us a lot of grief.

Turn 36:

Jenkins is healing and feeling like the king of the hill. The lion moved out of sight in between turns, so we're good for now.

Anoleis started laying down a road outside of our borders, covered by Fredricks.

Settler in 2 turns, BW in 7 (+1).
