Decisions are for Veterans; us Casual folks just talk a lot and hope someone will make up our minds for us...
Having said that:

Yeah, if they choose RtR 3.0.0.5 I will design the starts differently. I still hate that change but I have a better idea how to work around it.
Btw, 12 players is fine, and its up to y'all when to lock the signups. I will start once that is finalized.
If you're OK with designing for v3, then I think we'll lock that in; is there anything else specifications-wise you need from us that we haven't already marked "mapmaker discretion"?
12 seems a good number, but I'd not mind waiting and seeing if anyone else will show up. Basically, my feeling is that if you've everything you need and a timeslot to start on the map, then we'll lock in and go on with discussions of pick methods; if you're not going to be able to start for a couple of days then we'll see if anyone else wants to join before then.

Yeah, if they choose RtR 3.0.0.5 I will design the starts differently. I still hate that change but I have a better idea how to work around it now. One of the biggest problems with PB27 was that we sent out the starts *before* we realized how big of a mess the whole capital-move w/ 2h-anywhere problem would be, and so we had to change the rest of the map without touching the BFCs.

Sorry! That is mostly my fault...

So... what are we doing? Locking signups? Picking a ruleset? Just hanging out, casually?

Yes!
OK, so:
>24Hrs since the last signup, so let's lock in at 12 players.
No complaints re: RtR v3, so let's lock that in as well. Those in the know: Is there anything pending with the latest version that we'd want to ask Krill for a quick iteration, or is 3.0.0.5 assumed bug-free?
Ruleset: I think we're at "PB28, but with standard AI-Diplo", but Joey can override anything if he thinks it's warranted by the map design.
Pick method: apathy consensus seems to be building for the PB27 method or a variation thereof which allows keeping of half a combo. Not sure I have anything to add to that debate at this point.

Did Moai cost get fixed? And settled great generals granting 3xp?

Well, they are not listed in the 3.0.0.5 changelog, but they are in Joey's v2 vs v3 changelog at the end of the thread. I guess someone will have to check (which I can do this evening if no-one can confirm before then).
I also remembered what really turned me off about v3 was the animal nerf.

GGs give +3 xp. Moai Statue seem to be 100h on normal speed. What was the issue with Moai?

It should be 2.5x that cost.
Ugh, so we'd need to resurrect Krill for a day, or beg his indulgence to have someone else tinker out those quirks.

Oh, half the time he persuaded someone else to do the actual coding anyway. I think novice was one of his helpers?

Cheater_Hater too. But I do remember him getting very offended when Elkad created a version that included the NoScore code when they were prepping one pitboss or other...
