PBEM 74a/74b- Mini-Tournament

There will now be two games of four players each. The below will serve as a guideline but each game can hash out it's own ruleset.

3. Snake Pick (Perhaps utilising the points system for picking as used in other recent games. Mapmaker/lurkers to confirm how many points per trait/civ to ensure balance)

9. Tech Trading/Brokering OFF

11. Difficulty: Mapmaker/lurker discretion. However, please do not make it too costly. Monarch maybe.
    
12. AI Diplomacy ONLY
    
13. Map: Either crafted or heavily edited. Feel free to get creative. But, please get lurkers to vet it heavily. I don't like the idea of any player being severely handicapped from the start. I also milldly favour a FLAT map.

Who would be interested in playing? Both Gingereagle and Sian have declared a potential interest so I would reserve them a spot until I hear otherwise. I have allowed up to 6 players, but 6 would only be possible if all players are very good at playing their turns promptly and/or the timezones/times we can play align very nicely.

Perhaps, more importantly, is there any potential map maker who thinks they could put something together? There is not a significant hurry.

We have 4 confirmed now and 2 potentials so would be good to know from Sian or Gingereagle what their intentions are (I will message them privately to alert them to this thread)

If all want to play, then we should all acknowledge that we will do our utmost to play at least a turn a day (more is great, but 1 a day is always sufficient) as much as possible. With 6 of us, the game could get significantly held up very easily if a few folks are not reliable. For those playing their first game, please be aware that these games can potentially last a very long time. In PBEM72, my turns at the start (and for quite awhile) were only taking 30 seconds to 2 minutes, but by the end they were roughly 15 minutes long each.

My preferred time to play has been edited into the original post, I would appreciate if you could confirm yours also.

We still require a mapmaker. I might message a few people who have produced exceptional maps in the past if we get no interest, but please do volunteer if you would like/think you may be able to help.

Thank you. For clarity, is this 04:00 - 06:00 or 16:00 - 18:00 MST. I don't want to assume and ruin the game so early by getting the turn order all wrong!

Hopefully we can avoid toroidal this time Can the map-maker ensure there's decent land-masses with no silly "cow-islands"?

Can slot in anywhere between 09:00 to 00:00 UTC* at the moment; if I do finally get permanent employment, I'll make sure shifts don't block out my entire slot

Am I correct that a snake pick usually means unrestricted leaders? Is anyone going to be banned?

*A caveat to that is on Tuesday's & Sundays I have other commitments which mean my slot ends effectively @ 18:00 (to ensure I can play it, I'll need the saved by 17:30)
