[spoilers] Boldly Global Warming - Viva la revolución Industrial!!

My recommendation would be to tech Steel, draft All The Things, and crush Pinkoti because why not give it a shot? They're both better players than you (and me, though I hardly count since my engagement level is obviously low here) and given a longer period of time to prepare why wouldn't the better player prevail? So, kill them in the cradle if you can. Or at least before they get more machine guns. Rolldice Commissar

Just keep in mind this is probably going to be the same advice I give you every time you meet someone in this game, so whatever. smile

Sure. I'll probably regret this later if Pindicator doesn't share his map too. I then forgot to take a screenshot of what it revealed, but you can see it in the minimap...

...here. You can also see worker turns sunk into building a road network because just because. I don't think anyone is coming calling this early and these turns could be workshops or something but I don't get a serfdom discount on roads anyway so I'll build roads while I'm in slavery. I am also the kind of person that eats too much at a buffet because I'm losing value if I don't, even if I don't really need to go back for that third trip to the buffet. shakehead So, cities, eat your roads. whip The upshot is it is easier to move my seven workers around so there is efficiency later by having roads built now.

We really should play more of these advanced starts. There is so much more to do than with a regular start. Making decisions is a good thing.

Oh, Xenu, mirrored map, pop in and take a look if you want.

My pregame concern about barbs is going to be a thing.

This will be a size 3 city and ~300 free hammers invested into a settler, and early enough to make a meaningful outcome to the game. I didn't notice it until after I had swapped civics or I may have considered Police State and kept slavery for an additional five turns to whip out a galleon and grenadier to remove the city. It is doubtful whether I would have been able to keep the city though anything is possible, particularly with me having Police State at my disposal. The only problem with that thinking is that Dreylin/OT4E also has SPI and could counter. The city is closer to their core and etc etc. I really wish I had noticed this before swapping civics. frown

Time to catch up a little. The PHI civs are putting their extra GPP to use now with one popping a GS and the other a GE which was parlayed into Taj last turn. Not a huge benefit at just three cities, but for 100 GPP the price was right. I'm guessing the GS will bulb into SM and race toward Communism. That's my plan at least.

In more important news, I finally settled on a theme. We are now the Offshore Empire, inspired by our good friends at Mossack Fonseca in Panama. Thanks for nothing, Xenu. nono

Elsewhere, REM is already setting up city #4, putting his IMP trait to work with what I can only assume are some whips. Well, he's last in score and has three size 4 cities so, combined with civstats saying he whipped three turns ago... yeah. Can you tell I'm really paying close attention to this game? Case in point, we got circumnav several turns back via world map trades and I only noticed it this turn when looking for Taj. I'm so good at civ it is scary. shades

So, Xenu, any thoughts of any sort at all? Or is this team game really just me making uninspired moves every turn? These games are a lot more fun when there is more input than just an automaton pressing buttons.

How are you going to use circumnav to destroy your enemies and increase the lamentation of their women?

On boats, mostly. nod

Brick, this is more or less what I'm thinking for the circumnav bonus. It covers all requirements. We'll use boats. The women will certainly lament our coming.

How about a Panama Papers theme? If we somehow run out of names we can easily transition to robber barons, sort of on our industrial era theme. You're welcome!

Also, I just noticed you're 264 turns in the game and only have 17 pop. Casual indeed! (Just like your dead lurker!)

Plan? Build an army and use it under the same logic an AI would display when running the AI_FUCK_AROUND_LEMMING mission. I think that's the approximate routine name, could be off by a bit. Anyway, it's good at swarming and capturing enemy cities, though admittedly not good at holding captured cities or keeping the units alive. But just think of the mayhem you can cause! Fun! Lemmings!!
