Nice. Was just searching around for info on it a couple weeks ago and was surprised there was no new info at all beyond that it was supposedly being made. Those screenshots make it look like only one units per tile though, which also as I recall used to be fairly common in classic hex strategy games.

Just what I needed though, another game to suck up time this year haha. Back to SC2 beta.

I might be the only one dismayed at this announcement. I've only had Civ IV for about a year and I have a fairly old PC. Looking at those pretty pictures, I'm worried that I couldn't run the new game. And everyone will move on . . . .

Still, it will be interesting to see the gameplay differences, at the very least.

They mention City States on the official website, and it sounds like a system that has lots of opportunity to be really bad and flawed, like Vassals.

Same here, but I'll just keep on playing Civ 4 until I get a better PC...

Hi,

hex tiles, at last! jive I've been hoping for this for years. smile It's not only better for ranged units, but for movement in general.

Now let's hope they also have implemented an AI at least as good as the Civ 4 AI, otherwise it will be a huge disappointment for me...

If the hex tiles are anything like Heroes of Might and Magic 3's then I'm a happy man. That's all experience I have from them lol
