Stardew looks like a wonderful marriage of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. I'm holding off on buying it for now because I know I'll get way too into it and I don't have time for that right now. mischief

EDIT: Wow, it's north of 900k users now according to SteamSpy. That's very impressive for a game made by just one guy.

I'm playing Xcom Enemy Within. Watched some Xcom 2 videos when that came out and realized how amazing the game is. I completed my first campaign on normal difficulty without having to load. Lost two characters, one in the first terror mission when chrysalids appeared, and I lost my best and most experienced unit in the base defense, because all my highest ranking guys had their basic weapons equipped at the time. I thought my campaign was dead at that point, it was a miracle to come out of it with just one death. Next I started a Classic campaign and holy shit, it's a whole new game. In my first Classic campaign, I lost two full squads when Mechtoids and Cyberdisks started appearing in abduction missions. In my second campaign, I got big UFO's early on and lost all my satellites and had a negative funding. Somehow I crawled up from that but eventually succumbed when I lost my best units to a mix of Mutons, Mechtoids and a Berserker. On my third campaign now, it's going well. I will have satellites in every country except my home continent (lost two countries there) and I'm about to research Titan armor. Started bringing two heavies with Bullet Swarm and Heat Ammo so I can actually kill Mechtoids and Cyberdisks before they get a turn and kill someone. I'm loving Fire Emblem in Space real world edition.

Two in game weeks into Stardew Valley, I'm in love. My farm us still really bare but I can't wait to improve it. And continue to discover things.

It's a wonderful game. I have logged a little over 60 hours now. Still finding new things to do.

Recently I've been playing the SNES port of Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord. It's one of the classic turn-based dungeon crawlers; you assemble a party of six to plumb the depths of a series of mazelike floors until (presumably) you reach the bottom. It's been very, very good so far; the character creation holds a lot of fun possibilities for party composition, and the dungeon itself doesn't hold back. It's the game I never knew I wanted.

Most of my gaming time goes into CIV, heavily modded with Vox Populi Mod.
I am close to finishing a X-Com Enemy Unknown Campaign, but only when children are in bed.
Occasionally I continue Avernum 2: Crystal Souls.
Regularly I check steam workshop for good Age of Wonders 3 maps, and play that whenever I find something nice.
Sometimes I start Kings Bounty Warriors of the North, but only for the kids.

And then there is the usual steam sale product you bought but never even started, in my case Shadowrun returns. I am determined to play it sometimes, but might take a while.

The game I look forward to the most is Might and Magic Heroes VII. I know, it is already available, but I'll wait until the expansion is there and all bugs are ironed out (which, unfortunately, is not the case now after half a year).

I just have to chime in that I tried out Stardew Valley as well after the recommendations on here, and I'm finding it to be a neat and cozy experience. The game is definitely a labor of love. So many little polished details. Very open-ended in how you can play it. I like how the game explicitly tries to dissuade the player from taking an ultra-optimizing, bean-counting, factory mindset to playing the game, which usually takes hold of me with these sorts of farming/production simulators and leaves me feeling a bit hollow and strung out as if after a cocaine binge. The game reminds me of a 2-D version of Minecraft, except with richer interactions with NPCs and thus more of a social feeling and less of a forsaken/desolate vibe like Minecraft can sometimes have on single player.

Plus, a fantastic soundtrack that was apparently made by the single creator of the game. Amazing. And I hear that a multiplayer co-op mode is in the works for an upcoming patch. This is the one sort of game that I think my wife would actually enjoy.

Halcyon 6!

It's pretty great. Sort of a mix between Xcom base building, a 4x strategy layer and turn based FTL/JRPG combat.

They just released the full version a couple days ago and its still 15% off for a couple days.
