[SPOILERS] Raise Your Golf Clubs

My world just got larger as I found two borders this turn.

Ichabod to the South-East. I need to hurry if I want my X. Might be too late already, Ichabod has a Settler heading this way.
If he goes for one of my X's that means war. Too close to my cap. However he might settle two East of the X (or 1 more south), which is annoying, but I could maneuver and still settle two cities without attacking him.

Adrien to the West. He probably won't like my next plant. Not intending to push any further though.
I wish my scout wasn't eaten by a wild Manticore. It would be easier to know if I'm being too aggressive with my city plants if everything wasn't covered in fog of war.

I have to wonder if Adrien and Mardoc are angry at me or not. I destroyed them in the previous casual game, but towards the end I also helped them for no benefit of my own. Was it enough to mend the fence?
My next plant will be three cities deep to the west. It could be too far. But it's also the perfect spot cause it'll be a border city on a hill, which wouldn't be the case if I held it back a little. My warrior will uncover a few more tiles towards Adrien, but the Settler is out next turn..

Encountered a barbarian, luckily I've been slow-building an axe just for this purpose. I switched to working hammers and will get it out in 1 turn.
After that I will send the axe north to check out what's in the fog.

I ended up moving my warrior back instead of towards Adrien.. Just to be sure that there are no surprises in the fog waiting for our unguarded Settler.

Ichabod moved south with the Settler, yay! Also he has an unguarded worker next to my warrior. Might not finish that chop, I've got my reputation.
For the record I would not take the worker. I know the meta game better these days.

Here's the busiest Civ4 pic:

X's are planned city spots. Not too sure how far I can expand to the southwest.
I will settle the southern island city soon for trade routes. Galley is half-built in the capital. The island looks like it'll have space for more cities too. Hopefully it IS an island.
I don't know whether the islands to the north are islands or the edge of another continent. I need to explore when I settle on the coast.
Finally got the whales connected some time ago so I could go past the size 4 cap. Quetzalcoatl will expand onto the silver next turn.
I settled Juno. It looks like the Adrien city near it is a new city (no border pop). I also noticed that they don't have copper or horses connected. If I had Aggressive Vultures right now, this game would look a lot like PB28.
Ichabod settled his city right on the Stone. Going wonder hunting I guess. I feel like I'm too late to the Pyramids party so I won't bother with it, even though I will have Stone in a few turns.
Marble on the other hand could come handy.

Doing fine in the demos. Haven't whipped much. Might do it more now that I have a higher happiness cap but lacking in improved tiles when some cities grow.

Found familiar terrain, has to be Adrien's capital:

We are fairly close to it, but..

Ichabod is 3 tiles closer to our capital than we are to Adrien's, so Adrien really shouldn't be more than slightly annoyed at us.

Oh yeah, we founded Valkyrie this turn. It's kind of a shit hole before IW. But it's more than a land grab, it does have 8 workable tiles in BFC and our happy cap is at 6.

Took a look inside Adrien's borders:

Nothing threatening there, just warriors. He does have copper and horses connected now though. I will attempt to keep an eye on him and Ichabod.
I'm settling the spot marked with an X in 2 turns. That city and Juno will be my frontline. I might settle southwards as well, depends on what I find in the fog.
2 turns to a Galley and 3 turns to a Settler who will go aboard and settle the island to the south of my capital.

Settled Archangel:

Workers are a little behind. I wanted to road through the rough terrain so that I can reinforce it faster if a conflict breaks out.

Turn 75 update:

Only 4 monstars :P

Same with resource bubbles on.

I moved the island city deeper into the island. It's supposed to go 1E of the X.

Demos are fine. Low research rate is a problem. Break-even rate is at like 50%.
IC trade routes will help. I should probably go Maths -> Currency next.
Maybe I should have a production city start on the Pyramids for fail gold. It's not something I usually do, but what better time to start than now?

Ichabod has TWO size 7 cities. I think he's also building the Pyramids cause he settled on top of the Stone.

My starting location is not the best. I'm between a top contender (Ichabod) and a hyper aggressive team (Mardoc+Adrien).
I think Ichabod might have pink dotted towards me as well (maybe just for the stone?). From what I've scouted, there is a lot of empty land between his cities.
Mardoc and Adrien will wage eternal war against me if they feel even slightly insulted, which could already have happened with my city plant.
I don't really see this game going through without a war. One of them will eventually declare on me, so I should probably be the one to make the first move. Just not yet..

Settled Thor:

Ferrying over two workers on the next trip. There seems to be a resource on the desert tile in the fog. I can't work it, but I can connect it after the second border pop.

I'm contemplating if I should go Calendar before Currency. With Marble I could build the Mausoleum of Maussollos, and I have three happiness resources that need Calendar.

Demos:

Still doing fine. Somehow I'm #2 in Soldiers despite only building two extra units (two spears for the Mardoc front). Are people running their empires without garrison units?

Back to expanding after a short break. Probably settling the Manticore city and the X north of Quetzalcoatl.
I do need to think about the land race as well. I want the western X with Jackalope and Cretan Bull. The island southeast of Thor would be nice to have.
I could settle a city east of Thor. It would be susceptible to Ichabod invasion but it'd be a solid city..
The final land grab that interests me are the islands to the north. I need to check them out. Archangel is my first city that can build a boat on that coast.
Archangel is currently building a Spear, but I'm only putting in enough hammers to whip it if Adrien moves his chariot near. It's in Cassoulet.

Sandwurm tile turned out to be a naked desert. Oil perhaps?
