I actually couldn't resist and read through the whole thread that night tongue
I just haven't gotten around to a big reply post, since I read it on my Wii U and that isn't best for a big posts with a bunch of quotes smile

I mean, I doubt there's much I could have helped you with, even if you were posting reports--how many cities do we have left by the way?

(and of course, if you want more you can join the party in our PB33 thread--we're starting well there, and I can't screw us over by prioritizing Hanging Gardens there tongue )

We controlled five cities when I ended the last turn - Ollantaytambo the Heroic Epic city, Vilcas the Moai city are the important ones. Also in our hands are the city on the northeast border with DZ that will likely be attacked and conquered this turn, the city southwest of Cuzco, and Huamanga which was captured by taotao but I managed to retake temporarily since it was defended by a single Knight.

Ollantaytambo is threatened by five Knights and a Horse Archer this turn, so I shifted some of our Knights from Vilcas to bolster its defences. Next turn taotao can have over a dozen Knights in range, but there's no harm in delaying him one more turn. Maybe it would better to let taotao capture it so we can retake and burn down more buildings, but this way we can squeeze out an extra 14xp Knight, and anyway the settled GGs are the biggest prize from that city.

Our peace treaty with Donovan ran out and he has something like ten Knights on the northeast border, so war with him seems imminent. Too bad for him he's only going to pick up a single marginal tundra city, plus the filler cities he got last war. I think Serdoa should have either gone all-in with attacking last time, or waited a little longer to build up strength. Attacking at tech parity against an enemy when they have Formation Knights and you don't was never going to go anywhere fast.

Are we dead yet?

Not quite. We're down to just Vilcas, but taotao's massive army has been sitting on their collective asses in the occupied cities for several turns, not that I can fathom why. Donovan declared too, and took the city on our border, but has since done nothing. Clearly Vilcas's garrison and Castle strike such terror into our opponents that they need to work up their courage first.

The past few turns have consisted of connecting, waiting ten minutes for the game to load, and hitting end turn. I've been exciting myself by renaming our last few units and pondering whether to delete our last three Workers before taotao gets them. Hopefully that day comes soon.

'Fraid not. Even if I built one, taotao's had East Indiamen haunting our coastal cities since before the war started. Not much we could do about that with, uh, Triremes...

The layout of the map doesn't permit any PB18-style adventures in the first place, supposing I had more time to prepare Only two (?) continents, enemy borders on both sides and no islands pre-Astronomy* make for a gloomy picture.

*I'm assuming there are Astronomy islands out there, otherwise I can't explain where taotao, REM and dtay are founding so many cities.
